I upgraded to 1.05, and the map screen shows as below. The game is playable, but the terrain, where normally green/yellow shows as white. Only terrain map mode appears to be an issue. This was not an issue prior to the patch.

I uninstalled completely, reinstalled (including DirectX) and then applied the patch.
I upgraded my video driver using Windows Update.
I uninstalled video drivers, and applied latest NVidia drivers via their website.
I also modified the resolution to various settings - no effect.
Ran Dxdiag and ran 2d and 3d tests, successfully.
Finally, I turned off all graphic options in settings.txt one by one - having only terrain=yes and all others set to no, the terrain shows as white.

None of the above had any affect on the issue.

Fairly old system, although have no trouble with other PI games, or CKII prior to patch. Using NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS. Have not seen this with other applications. Any ideas?

Try a full clean reinstall.

If this is Steam: uninstall the game from Steam and move any valued save games elsewhere. Manually delete the CK2 directories from under the Steam AND MyDocuments folders, now reinstall the game via Steam.

If GamersGate: Move valued save games elsewhere, and uninstall the game. Manually delete the CK2 directories from where GG put them and from MyDocuments. Reinstall the game , download 1.05 patch again and apply it.

The clean install did not affect anything, but the replaced gfx/fx file corrected the issue. Just out of curiousity - is this due to my hardware? I'll keep the file around for future patches.

Thanks again!

Most likely yes, we have only seen this reported with old graphics cards.

Out of curiosity, how does your Fog-Of-War look? Is the Fog-Of-War moving?

I'm experiencing the same problem, which occoured only after 1.05 patch. It appears the new pdxmap.lua file corrected the "glow" but terrain resolution dropped greatly making it, for me, yet unenjoyable.

Graphic card: GeForce 7950 GT

EDIT:
So "Multisample Level" in settings was set to "0". Changed it to "4" and it looks better now. Thanks for the fix. :)
