33 years for leader - magyar is very long. need to cut it back. we usually do not have these long periods, else I might force in Taddeo d'Este for VEN from 1414 to 1448

my comments only.
Is there a limit, say 15-20 years?

If yes, I will give you other avalibility dates.

For example while Magyar started under Hunyadi János, he was made famous during Corvinus's anti-hussite campaign. thus he can start later - around 1460 - if you want)
I've read the post in the Hungary thread.
Then should I rework my suggestion about Japanese leaders?
I gave some of them 40+ years life :eek:o

Does it make sense?
Yes, as I wrote in remarks and comments in the file.
A ramaining problem is game balancing: I believe they won't cause any serious problem because of their moderate skill values, but I want to test it through the new version if you agree to do so. Can we keep them for now?

I'm not sure that you did that so well. For instance "Murakami Takeyoshi"...I don't really see any support for him being a leader for such a long period of time (49 years).

Revision of leaders.nip based on beta 10

How about them? Feel free to ask any questions.

<Major modification points>
- Now all leaders' lifetimes are cut back to 20-. (A part of settings are rewinded to that of 1.56.)
- The death dates of Akamatsu masanori (097803) and Ouchi Mashahiro (097804) were that Onin War ended officially.
- The start year of Murakami Takeyoshi (097811) was his most active days.
- Now Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu has 'rank = 0' because I changed their start dates into when they became monarchs.
- 'Keian Uprising' in the remark of Matsudaira Nobutsuna (097814) was a failed coup by some 'ronin' or masterless samurais in 1651.
- I changed Toyotomi Hideyoshi's ID with Shimazu Yoshihiro's one (097809-10) according to their start dates.
- Also, I added some other information in remarks and comments in the code.

I suggest that NIP-ENG relationship in 18-19th centuries events as below; The first two are foreshadowings, which also will work for other NIP-RUS relationship events in the future suggestion.
In addition, I set up these events can naturally happen if Japan adopted the ahistorical open-door path as possible as I can, through some triggers.

About HMS Phaeton, you can see here.

EVENTNAME242061;Attack of HMS Phaeton on Nagasaki harbor;;;;;;;;;;
EVENTHIST242061;As the Netherlands were conquered, all Dutch colonies began to provide their resources for France. Willem V the former stadholder asked Great Britain for asylum and taking over these lands. It gave Great Britain a fine reason to attack on any former VOC's territory. Even though the shogunate had known it by annual reports from Dutch merchants in Nagasaki, they had paid little attention because of the great distance. However, historically on 4 Oct 1808, HMS Phaeton sailing under a Dutch flag entered the harbor of Nagasaki. When fooled Dutch residents visited the ship, the crews captured them and threatened the authorities to burn down the harbor demanding fresh food and fuel. The shogunate decided to fight off them but it ended up revealing another problem: Local officials had reduced the garrison without asking mainly because of their default. Eventually, the shogunate reluctantly accepted their demands and the frigate left the harbor at ease. The incident caused not only punishments for those responsible, but also arguments on the diplomatic policy all over the country. The antiforeignism became dominant since there were repeated intrusions into coastal waters by foreign vessels even after the incident. Then the shogunate decided to adopt exclusive policies, which finally led to the reactionary Edict to Repel Foreign Vessels of 1825.;;;;;;;;;;

Moving the capital of NIP between 1520 and 1648 scenario

I think there is no event to move the capital of Japan from Kansai to Kanto, between 1520 and 1648 scenario. Then I suggest the event for it as below:
About Siege of Osaka, you can see here.
As you may know, the event would be worth adding to AGCEEP if we had another capital-moving event: This was the last great battle of the Sengoku Period.

Code:

EVENTNAME242062;Siege of Osaka;;;;;;;;;;
EVENTHIST242062;Even after the formation of the new regime, Toyotomi clan was among the most powerful factions in Japan. The shogunate persisted to try to submit it peacefully without success. Eventually, the clan entrenched Osaka Castle, the headquarters of it, and called for potential anti-shogunate powers across the country to be engaged in the coming battle. The decisive siege battle was fought in 1614-15 with four months suspension, between the shogunate force with 155,000-194,000 men and the clan with 55,000-96,000 men. The shogunate managed to win it, called Siege of Osaka, and abolished the clan. With this victory, the shogunate truly accomplished the reunification of the country under its banner.;;;;;;;;;;

In random event NIP_242059, maybe you could check if at least one European major colonizer (SPA, POR, ENG, FRA, HOL) exist. Very unlikely but...

Because of possible dates for event NIP_242060, better not use 1806 in the title but in the description. My suggestion:
EVENTNAME242060;Edict to Supply Foreign Vessels of 1806;;;;;;;;;;
EVENTHIST242060;In 1806, the shogunate issued the edict to the effect that they allowed to only supply food and fuel for foreign vessels as they faced with increasing demands by European nations including making trade agreement, in addition to illegal activities of their ships. They wished to stay away from advanced European powers through the Edict, but it might turn out to irritate them more.;;;;;;;;;;

In ENG_164242, you should check if HOL_186104 (Restoration of the Orange Dynasty) didn't happen.
Few modifications for description:
EVENTHIST242061;As the Netherlands were conquered, all Dutch colonies began to provide their resources for France. Willem V the former stadholder asked Great Britain for asylum and taking over these lands. It gave Great Britain a fine reason to attack on any former VOC's territory. Even though the shogunate had known it by annual reports from Dutch merchants in Nagasaki, they had paid little attention because of the great distance. However, historically on 4 Oct 1808, HMS Phaeton sailing under a Dutch flag entered the harbor of Nagasaki. When fooled Dutch residents visited the ship, the crews captured them and threatened the authorities to burn down the harbor demanding fresh food and fuel. The shogunate decided to fight off them but it ended up revealing another problem: Local officials had reduced the garrison without asking mainly because of their default. Eventually, the shogunate reluctantly accepted their demands and the frigate left the harbor at ease. The incident caused not only punishments for those responsible, but also arguments on the diplomatic policy all over the country. The antiforeignism became dominant since there were repeated intrusions into coastal waters by foreign vessels even after the incident. Then the shogunate decided to adopt exclusive policies, which finally led to the reactionary Edict to Repel Foreign Vessels of 1825.;;;;;;;;;;

No need to sleep the two events in action_b. Add a null command instead (not sure if naval maxed out could prevent action_b to be displayed).

There is a consistency issue in texts of ENG_164243:
EVENTNAME164243;HMS Phaeton attacked on Nagasaki harbor;;;;;;;;;;
EVENTHIST164243;HMS Phaeton succeeded in the attack. ...

Better use:
EVENTNAME242061;Attack of HMS Phaeton on Nagasaki harbor;;;;;;;;;;

remove EVENTNAME164243 and use EVENTNAME242061 for the name of ENG_164243

For now, I suggest 11 new events about the Tohoku and Kyushu regions because all my plans are a bit too long to post at once. In other words, these posts are as a part of plans for an overhaul of Japan's Sengoku Period sequence.

As you know, we have now only two events for province RRs during the period: 'Ise Shinkuro takes Odawara Castle' in 1495 and 'Toyotomi carries out the great Sword Hunt' in 1588. They affect +10/-10 RRs across the country without exception. Then my plan aims to amend them more specifically according to the historical situation on each region.

EVENTNAME242063;Decline of Oushu Tandai in Tohoku;;;;;;;;;;
EVENTHIST242063;Though the region was relatively stabilized, the situation began to change since the end of the 16th century. Osaki clan monopolized an authoritative post called 'Oushu Tandai' or Shogun's Deputy in Tohoku since 1400, but local lords which got much stronger began to overwhelm the clan with the lost of central authority. Eventually in 1522, Date Tanemune, a prominent lord in the region, was appointed to 'Shugo' or Governor of Mutsu Province over Osaki's head. Then, the Oushu Tandai system was virtually abolished. Osaki clan was reduced to a local lord defending only his own territory.;;;;;;;;;;

EVENTHIST242069;In 1551, Ouch clan which also ruled a part of northern Kyushu regions was taken over by a traitorous vassal, Sue Harukata. Otomo Sorin seized the opportunity to turn his former enemies into his retainers. As a result, he ensured to rule the northeastern Kyushu including Hakata, a prosperous commercial city. Then, he gradually extended power over the surrounding area while he approached the shogunate to get vindication of it. In 1559, He was appointed to 'Kyushu Tandai' or Shogun's Deputy in Kyushu. EVENTHIST242071;By the late 1570s, Kyushu was almost divided into two powerful clans: Northern Otomo and southern Shimazu. The tension between them ran high more and more, at last they fought a fatal battle, called the Battle of Mimikawa in 1578. Historically Shimazu managed to defeat Otomo and his 30,000-40,000 men then ensured the unification of the whole region. However, if the result had been contrary, what kind of situation would have become? Otomo Sorin, the clan's head, had been attracted to Catholicism since the 1550s so deeply that he was christened as Don Francisco just before the battle. He hoped to create the Kingdom of Heaven in the region...;;;;;;;;;;

Modification of related existing events
------------------------------------------------------------
Notes:
- As I wrote, 'Ashikaga Yoshitane is driven from the throne' can be the best point to begin the sequence.
- If any one of above events didn't happen, 'Toyotomi carries out the great Sword Hunt' can reduce all province RRs. However, it might not a good idea and we should think it over a bit more.
- When I suggest other new events about other regions, I will rework it again to satisfy them.

#-#Seeking more and more power, Yoshitane threated seemed more and more of a threat to the emperor.Yoshitane began to face serious conflicts of interests with Hosokawa Masamoto. Thus in 1493 Hosokawa Masamoto attempted to oust Yoshitane from the position as shogun in Kyoto and put in his place Ashikaga Yoshizumi as a puppet shogun. After this coup, the shogunate decisively lost its weakened influence and military power across the country. Local feudal lords began conflicts each other to defend what they thought of as their rights by using force if necessary. This incident was the beginning of the so-called Sengoku Period.

#-#Ise Shinkuro has by guile and trickery taken control of Odawara castle. He befriended the lord of the castle Omori Fujiyori and invited him on a hunting trip. The diversion allowed him to kill the lord and take the castle with ease. He has had his son, Ujitsuna, marry a descendent of the illustrious but almost extinct Hojo family and now calls himself Hojo Soun. Ise has since promoted good relationships with the local peasants and merchants, while gradually extending his control over Kanto.

Also, now there are some old random events for the era, like NIP_6927 'A vassal betrays his lord and takes over his lands' and so on. To be concrete;

6917 - A Daimyo has attacked you;
6918 - Daimyo alliance has formed against you;
6919 - A Daimyo has built a manufactury;
6925 - A daimyo demands rights and better position;
6927 - A vassal betrays his lord and takes over his lands;
6928 - Daimyo are fighting in a province destroying it in the process;
6929 - A Daimyo has made agricultural reforms in his domain;

IMO, these events are a bit strained. I will suggest cleaning up them in the future when we can settle down my proposals. (Not now immediately. I think I shouldn't try to change everything all at once.)

EDIT: Fixed IDs confusion between 242072 and 242073.

In NIP_242069 and NIP_242070, typo for revoltrisk command: 684 => 688
In NIP_6945, "provincetax which = 685 value = 2" is not mentioned.To be removed?

About the trigger of NIP_242071, is it really important for both mentioned events to have fired before? Couldn't only one be sufficient?

About the reworked revoltrisk, are you sure it will go back to 0 for all provinces in all cases?

Because 1520 scenario starts in the middle of the reworked events, what are the events that should be marked as already happened for sequences to finish properly?
For same reason, what should be the level of revoltrisk for involved provinces when the scenario starts?

Thanks in advance for the computation.

Thank you for your check, Yoda. I answer them one by one.

Sorry, they are just my mistakes. We need to keep "provincetax..." in NIP_6945 then I bring it back using white color. Also I fixed mentioned typos in NIP_242069 and NIP_242070.

Yes, it's a good idea. I fixed it using "OR = {}". Also, I want to apply the similar way in NIP_242072, historical unification event. Isn't it good?

Yes. As I mentioned, if any one of these events didn't happen, 'Toyotomi carries out the great Sword Hunt' in 1588 can reduce all province RRs by -10 for now. (But I think it's a tentative solution and I will amend them more reasonably.)

Well, though I intend to only few rework before 1520, I will check the scenario file on this occasion. Please wait a few days.

For same reason, what should be the level of revoltrisk for involved provinces when the scenario starts?
In 1520 scenario we will make each province have each RR as follows:
Code:
Ezochi:		 0
Tohoku:		 2
Kanto:		10
Kansai:		10
Shikoku:	10
Kyushu:		 8
Also, I will write about them crearly when I post other new events for other regions next time.

Well, I've checked NIP's event in "1520_GlobalData.inc" as I said.

First, there're only one event which should be newly marked as it happened in 1520 scenario: NIP_242028 "Ashikaga Yoshitane is driven from the throne" is it, for now.

Second, the below events are what we can remove from "1520_GlobalData.inc" because they are now unsuitable settings for AGCEEP.
Code:
history = {
	...
	[color=red]6926 #NIP: The Ezo are rebelling[/color]
	...
	6933
	[color=red]6934[/color]
	...
	6938
	...
	[color=red]6959[/color]
	...}
sleepevent = {
	[color=red]6926 #NIP:The Ezo are rebelling[/color]
	...}
- NIP_6926 "The Ainu's Revolt in Ezochi" is now a historical random event because recently we switched opptions in the trigger event, NIP_6938 "Koshamain's Revolt".
- NIP_6959 "Sen no Rikyu perfects Tea Ceremony" is historical one which is set to fire in 1582-83.
- NIP_6934 "The final act in the Eikyo war" is the ahistorical version of NIP_6933.
