Ok, I can join Mats with IP or Hamachi just fine. I could join Krisz just fine with IP. I apparently can join without issues as far as I know.

Using win 7 64-bit, playing the game as admin in compability mode for Win XP SP3.

Have the ports 2300-2400, 6073 and 47624 open.
Have the ports 12975, 32976, 17771 and 443 open as well when using hamachi.
 
Whoever uses any sort of 64 bit OS is really asking for trouble. These old games were not designed for such systems. Even some modern games have problems with them.

As for your question Mats, continuing playing in FTG would mean kicking a few players and i will not do that.

Is everyone able to roll back to EU2?

64bit is the future tho, 32bit wont detect more then 4gb ram wich would be a issue for me since i got 6

i can go back to eu2, worked fine last game

it's not affect by vlan softwares, i met this ctd in real lan/openvpn/softether/hamachi.
 
It's quite random really. I've got Win 7 64-bit and FTG mp works without having to resort to VPNs or port-forwarding.

u mean this mp starting ctd is randomly?

for me, the same. some times 10round get ctd 8 times, some times 10round only get 2.

i can't find what's different.
 
Do you also get the CTD when the game is loading (that connecting/status ok screen) or when you're in the game? What I noticed is that the first attempt always ends up in CTD when the game is loading. Then the second is OK.

Additionally, did you try vanilla?
 
yes, when the game is loading, ctd at connecting/status screen, both start scenario and load save game will happen.

noted that if in the connecting/status screen, the other "player status" become "ok", this ctd won't happen.

every CTD when the other "player status" still is "connecting".


vanilla met this ctd is less than mod. mod will get this ctd almost every time. such as agceep.

I am using Win7 64-bit ans I don't recall the last game that I have not been able to run.(and yes, I play a lot of different games). The 64-bit scare is really a Vista thing.. with the current Windows build and drivers, it's just as stable as 86x, or even more so.

I am not sure if i'd be interested in EU2.. only if everyone else are eager about it I guess.

Also, I am sorry for leaving yesterday.. after testing that I didn't have problems joining, I asked Drake to let me know when you were done testing, but after an hour or so, he disappeared and I went to do something else with some friends. I apologize if you got anything going.

We only tried EGO's UMP. The crash occurs in or before post-loading screen, which is the screen where you see the list of players and to the right of their name "Status OK" or "Connecting...".

We also had success. Best attempt managed to get 7 players into the game.

This has to do with some incompatibility between systems. Me + drake worked. Me + monkii worked. Me + drake + monkii did NOT work.

That is... wierd. What would possibly influence such? Are you sure this is not mere coincidence?
 
i know boris had a simular issue but he got some error
i never seen any error when i crashed tho

we can do some testruns with a vanilla game and see if that works, then see if it works with us just unzipping the mod over the vanilla game(make a copy first)
altho for agc-eep, it has always been unstable in mp even in eu2 so it could be "normal"
 
this would be the first game i have any issues with btw ego, due 64bit
i managed to play megarace2, setlers 2, moo1-2 all without problems from gog games
