Age of Heroes - 1194 BC

ow2.jpg

Welcome to the thread for Age of Heroes, the long awaited :)p) sequel to my EU2 Mod "Odyssean World Scenario", which can be found here. The mod focusses on the late Bronze Age world, starting with the Trojan War and finishing with the mini-Dark Age and subsequent revival, spanning from the Mediterranean world right across to Shang dynasty China.

What I currently have is based heavily on my previous mod, incorporating the work I did on converting to the Ptolemy Map. It's not at all playable at the moment, but I will upload what I've done so far so people can take a look if requested. Any contributions or ideas are very welcome. :)

Main priorities are:

-Religion: lots of work still needed here.
-Events: old OWS events need to be converted, and hopefully lots of new events added.
-Graphics: new sprites, loading screens, interface etc. I'm useless at this, so any ideas/donations/contributions appreciated.
-Map: lots of nations still need to be added.

Is this still alive?

This is still alive, I just got a bit sidetracked with other things aka CK mapmaking. :D

Here's a screenie of the religious set up so far:

You should add the central Mediterranean - the area around the Tyrrhenian Sea, Etruria, Southern Italy, Sardinia, Sicily and Cyrenia to the map. Recent archeological evidence suggests that increasing trade between the eastern and central Mediterranean during the Late Bronze Age, and the introduction of new weapons, military techniques, and mercenary soldiers from Sardinia and Sicily especially, played a very important role in the collapse of Mycenaean, Hittite and Levantine civilizations.
Also Nubia was a very important region in New Kingdom Egypt of this period.

Also, I get that you're conceiving of this as an Odyssey-inspired scenario, but consider this: 1) the Trojan War probably happened before 1250 BC; 2) around 1200 BC is when kingdom after kingdom totally falls apart, something a Europa Universalis game cannot really simulate. A Late Bronze Age scenario could easily be pushed back to 1400 BC, I think.
