A new story trailer, showing the return of the terrifying Wizard Kings, was released today.

The game now is available in two editions: Standard and Premium, which includes an Expansion pass with a decent discount of 18%. Regardless of which edition you buy, a special pre-order bonus will be waiting for you in the game after the release:

In the Age of Wonders 4 Expansion Pass, players will receive the following content:

• Archmage Attire: The Wizards of Magehaven dress to impress, representing their grand personalities and ambitions. This outfit pack unlocks a new set of clothing you can wear as a whole, or to be mixed and matched with other in-game items. The Archmage Attire pack will be available instantly with the launch of Age of Wonders 4 for all Premium Edition players.
• Dragon Dawn: Embrace the power of the Ancient Dragon Lords in the Age of Wonders 4: Dragon Dawn Content Pack. From your Dragon Throne, forge empires inhabited by reptilian minions and use draconic magic to evolve your people into dragon hybrids. This content pack includes a new Dragon Ruler type, a Reptilian Form, and New Tomes of Magic.
• Empires and Ashes: The empires of mortals resurge after the devastation brought forth by the Wizard Kings! In the Age of Wonders 4: Empires and Ashes Expansion, players fuse magic and steel to unleash devastating war machines to drive the Godir back into the Astral Sea. This full expansion, includes a new Culture, new Tomes of Magic, new Empire Building options and a new Story Realm.
• Primal Fury: Channel Nature’s Spirits in the Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury Content Pack. Yes! Pre-orders of both the Standard and Premium Editions of Age of Wonders 4 will award players with an additional ruler and armor set: Aric Rex, a Tigran High King, and his elegant Lion Plate armor, Imperial Cape, and Athlan Crown.

This sounds wonderful! I would love to preorder the desktop version, but I am waiting to find out if the UI will work for me. I’m disabled and can only tolerate a moderate amount of clicking (clicking = tapping my touchpad mouse). I generally need to use the arrow keys to move my character. I can manage CK3, but had to give up on Skyrim, as it was just too painful to play. I’ve never played the AOW games before, so I’ve no idea whether AOW4 is likely to be something I can manage or not.

I'm not sure to which degree your disability impacts you but you might find playing with a controller preferable to M&KB

This says there is an additional RULER for pre-ordering. Is that Ruler as in 'pre-made faction/leader' or is that Ruler as in a 3rd Ruler option (4th with the Dragon)? If it is the latter (and I suspect it is), is it merely a Reskin of a Wizard King or Champion or will the Tigran King have its own unique set of ruler traits associated with it?

Aric Rex is a Pre-Made Ruler, not a Godir Origin. It's not a reskin of any existing characters but you can recreate him with the Pre-Order Cosmetics using the options available in game.

It's kinda weird seeing all the contents of the expansion pass, even before the game came out, ngl.

It's a bit strange yea, but we figured that if we're asking you to buy into the Expansion Pass/Premium Edition we should at least tell you what that roughly gets you.

I bought pre-order first time and have a question. Will I get the key to the game on May 2 at the time of the game's release? Or should he come to the email earlier? Thank you in advance for the answer.

That depends on your place of Pre-Order. For Steam it should automatically be part of your Library, if ordered from the Paradox website you should have a key in the mail and otherwise you should be able to locate it in your Paradox Account page.

It was ordered from the Paradox website. No, I didn't get it in my e-mail. Could there be a delay? But I really saw the product in "Your games" in the account. However, the key for Steam is not displayed there. Thank you.

Hmm I thought your Account Page also showed the keys but I might be thinking off a different store front. Are you sure the Key wasn't in the Order Email nor your Spam Folder? If Steam Linking doesn't help either indeed open a Ticket after the weekend and see if they can help you.

Just watching the "Happy Elves" gameplay. A question:

At 21 min. the dev says, if the Elemental kills a bunch of stuff he will keep evolving. Does this imply that XP is no longer shared with the entire stack like in Planetfall?

No, XP is still distributed amongst all participants at the end of the combat. This is more about the general notation that certain Units that earn a lot of XP can reach Rank 4 and evolve.
