late 1940 armageddon, Communist China. Finally managed to drive the Japanese back and into Manchukuo. Surrounded, Manchukuo capital surrounded and yet the Japanese troops are still in supply?
ScreenSave18-5.jpg

I have the entire coastline. Reloaded it and tried again, same thing. Getting close to winter and they eventually cut me off and sure enough I run out of supplies and get screwed in Manchukuo.

Since it is a capital they are in supply from Manchukuo. That is what I always assumed if a countries troops were cut off from supply depots but, still had a connection to an allies capital they stayed in supply.

This game sucks. 1942, and I just noticed that Poland gave Danzig to the Germans. The Japanese also haven't launched Pearl Harbour and my transports get mauled as soon as I place them in my harbour.

Ended up cheating using acceptall as to get peace with Japan as nothing was happening and it was a stalemate. I wantedto beat on Nationalist China.

Yep I've fallen into the same trap. Hoping to be awesome and nab some minors but Nat China does the auto annex and steals all your hard work. Then after the Fall of the Rising Sun event China masses 80divs on your borders agianst your 10 and you have no hope. So the moment Japan attacks join their alliance at 100% :D

The rising Sun event didn't fire, and I had an unannexed Manchukuo, Germany and the USA was as peace, and I had around 40 divisions and an HQ unit. I managed to hold most of Shanxi unil late 37 and I had an HQ unit completed in mid 38 and I went on the offensive. Acceptal peace with the Japanese for the Chinese lands after I annexed Manchukuo which the Nat Chinses recieved.

Battleplan 1937 (annexed Shanxi 36)

I dumped the mountaineers into Datong and my largest army into Beijing under Mao as soon as the Japanese reach a province you counter attack from the surrounding 3 provinces. Gives you 18 months of 20 IC to build an army with. Jining is the only province you can't attack from 3 directions. THe AI doesn't seem to know about the synchronise arrivlal button.

You should try and get your hands on the CCIP (Consolidated China Improvement Pack) before playing as the Chinese countries properly...there are some really annoying elements without it, such as forced peace treaties, historical inaccuracies, no Communist Chinese version of the Fading Sun event etc.

To make defeating Japan easier without the CCIP you should try this:

To start off with, as soon as the game starts you should make a quick landgrab in Xibei San Ma and try to annex before the peace treaty...this way you have a bit more IC and direct access to more IC in Tibet and Xinjian if you need it.

After the 1937 war starts, don't join/leave the alliance with NatChina, and as soon as Japan establishes Mengkukuo, hop onto the occupied territory and start mopping up. This way you can annex all of the nations, have territorial connections with them (no matter how fragile and small) without having to give anything up to NatChina. After that, it's up to you...but the situation isn't very good without a lot of game alterations.

Can you run the CCIP with the graphics improvment patch and where do you find it? I'm really bad at patching games (computer skill challenged). My game probably would have gone better if Japan and the USA would have been at war.

This is the one I use http://rapidshare.com/files/9105498/CCIP.zip.html no idea if it works with the graphics pack, but it should do. There will be added tech teams, leaders etc though. So the new pics will be in black and white and sometimes a bit rough.

The pack is quite old and a lot of the links are non existent. There was an Armageddon version but I couldn't get it myself, so this is version 5 of the doomsday version.

As Nationalist China you can pretty much defeat Japan in 1937 if you play it right. As Communist China it's not as easy, but you should enjoy it. It's much more realistic in terms of land gains...if you push Japan out of Korea you liberate the DPRK, and you gain all territory down to Shanxi. You can also quickly defeat the other warlords early on before the war with Japan, which gives you a lot of territory and a decent amount of IC with which to take on Nationalist China when the civil war kicks off again. It's a great pack. Make sure you stick it on a CD for the future.

How do you annex Xibel San Ma before the peace treaty? Keeps firing in early march and my mountaineers can't get to the capital to annex before April at the earliest.

Luck and offensive supply.

Dumb question how do you tell if the CHina improvement pack has installed correctly? I have the graphics improvements pack and IDK if its actually on there (Arm 1.3).

Nevermind. Managed to take Xibel San Ma, Yunnan, Tibet, and Sinkiang before the Japanese attack.

Does the Chinese improvement pack beef up Japan as well? They dumped a huge amount of divisions into northern China and I've more or less run outta manpower.

Ah, yeah. One thing I forgot to mention...the CCIP has changed the manpower to make it "more realistic". What I can do is give you a list of provinces and their manpower and you can restore it to how it was pre-CCIP using the game editor (you have it, right?). Makes the game a bit more easy and exciting. Some people like the drag...I don't.

EDIT: I'll just go ahead and post the list

Go into provinces, then The World: Asia: China and then cycle through and change the manpower. Can be a bit tedious, but once it's done it's done. I'd keep the list for whenever you re-install the game sometime and want to use the CCIP.
(don't change the IC, it messes everything up)

Thanx I'm not good at changing stuff like that. I went and played my Manchukuo save game and found out the hard qay my MP had fallen to 0.08 instead of the .30 or so it was at. China seems to have had its manpower nerfed. United as ChiCom and the MP was only 1.something or other and I'm sure it used to be 2.0+.
