Even i am enjoying this game i find some things annoying and hope they will be fixed in future patch. I had 5 ships in my fleet and ordered them into line. 2 of my own ships did collide damaging both 2 times while trying to go in line. Also if use fire at will mode they dont seem to care if their own ships are between them and enemy, but blast thru them. Thirdly one of my ship did roll over completely (masts down in sea, bottom up) and it still wasn't counted as destroyed, but damaged instead, i wonder how is this possible.

Lets see this in a positive way.

In the middle of a fight even the best captain makes some mistake = collides into other ships. +1 realism

Lots of guns firing = lots of smoke. Even with a clear view a captain could just order to try to fire above your own ship to hit the enemy one, this could lead to fatal friendy fire. + 2 1/2 realism :p

Well, the ship was intact. It was a) floating above the sea b) had all masts intact and c) probaly enought air to stay above water, so the captain didnt abandon it and still shouted: "No problem guys, just a bit damaged!" + 5 realism!

Total score: 8 1/2 realism

EIC wins!

About the ship rolling over... It was trying to play a submarine, but ye I did notice the horrible formation as well it seemed to work if you just tried to sail but formation attacking did some strange things... bet the Commander is drunk

Both collides did happen before even one shot was made. So captains must be drunk to make that kind of mistakes.

Well, i know it's possible, but very unlikely.

Ship wasn't intact, it had like 20 hull left, so i wonder how they did roll it over in middle of sea and still had crew in it to sail it to homeport

That one cracked me up, whoever that captain was he gets 10/10 for persistance at least

The line formation also had problems during beta. Due to speed and distance between fleets at start of battles this function was essentially useless, there is only enough time for minimal maneuvering.
