I'm making some event chains to try out my modding abilities and I'm trying to get a Korean War event chain. I want China to be prepared to storm the Yalu once Allied forces break into North Korea and I understand the ai_prepare_war command is simply supposed to have them move troops to the border they share with the country in question. However, every time the event with that command triggers, they actually do declare war on that country when all I want them to do is be ready to attack with a large chunk of forces when an event triggers war. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a way to get around it?

What this command does is to set AI desire to go to war with a particular nation extremely high. Ideally the AI will move troops to the border and once it decides it has enough it will declare the war. This command however has at least one issue - the high war value it sets is not saved, so if you save and reload the game it won't work. I would recommend you to avoid using it and use AI switch (set garrison priority and war value against the other country). You can also use an event that declares the war if there are enough troops in the provinces you want to.
