Aircraft tech screen access issues

Quick question.

How do you access the CAG, ground attack & night fighter techs at the bottom of the screen? I'm playing UK and currently I can only get CAG1'a for my CV5's.

I belive u need all of the Pre-War fighters/CAS/TAC/and STR but im not to sure, ive only play as canada (messed up b/c i didnt use CORE2-1936, i use the 1936 regular one) but am restarting soon as canada.

You need one type of fighter and a CAS model of same "generation" for CAGs. Night Fighters and Ground Attack Fighters require either Escort Fighters or Air Superiority ones, in addition to other research. Diversify!

Do you mean you need to research both fighter and CAS eachtime you want to research CAG? i.e. you need to research f & CAS 3 for CAG 3, f & CAS4 for CAG 4 etc

That's correct.

A Carrier Air Group consists of fighter and bomber aircraft, so both those components are needed (you'll notice how CAGs are quicker to research than these base aircraft - basically that represents carrier operation adjustments for the aircraft researched).
