As I have play this game for months, Although there are still some problem in the transport system operation, such as too many passage , traffic jam , the single platform in metro terminal etc. In fact I don’t think this is a perfect transport simulation. With too many type of public transport to operate and make all of them operating in rough. Such as no bus terminal, metro are only able to turn back with single platform, no Schedule operation and so on. These can be improving in the following DLC or even CIM2.

I discover that there is an advantage in the people moving simulation system in this game. What I mean is the walking path of the people moving is really realistic. If I am a person in the virtual CIM world. I can sure that I will walk the same path as they do.:p

As the result I suggest that the development team can have further study in the pedestrian system in the game engine. And apply it on other game which is requiring player to design reasonable path for them. I have an idea that the development a game which to construct and operate an airport. And it can make a good use to the pedestrian system in the terminal design. Such as arrange the immigration counter, check in kiosk, set up duty free and built air bridge. Player is required to put it correctly and make the airport terminal give out the highest efficiency.

Also, there are lots of ways to transfer people from the check in counter to the gate fast and efficient. Besides waking, we may use shuttle bus, moving walkway or even Auto People Mover. And the transport system in CIM can be simply modify to the new game and provide more fun on designing an effective terminal transfer system.

Surely, beside terminal design there are still lots of business for an airport management, Such as cargo terminal, fire station, apron and hanger. But the mainframe of the game should be logistics affair. So the people and cargo should be the most consider in the game.

And there can be a lot of challenging scenario such as how to use limited terminal area to fulfill overload passenger. For example the terminal in the former Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport is overload for around ten years until the new Hong Kong airport open.

Actually in the PC game market nowadays there is no such game for an airport business simulation. In the past I remember there are three rubbish games called airport tycoon 1, 2 and 3. These three games just a mess and make a failure in this type of simulation. So in fact no such type of game is playable before.:(

Finally there were a lot of successful business simulation games before. Such as the famous sim city series, sim tower and roller coaster tycoon series. I hope the CIM can have a try on using its well developed pedestrian system and fulfill the requirement from the player’s suggestion.:D

CiM is good in a lot of ways, but pedestrian system is not one of them.
The path finding for traveling in vehicles is very good, there are ppl even considering training people on how to plan a real network based on the game. See here.

But for walking, CiMs can be really dumb. See here.

That's true: a well working network in the game can be quite realistic (although some people's solutions with very short metro lines etc works also AFAIK, which is not that realistic), even though the CiM people's decision on how to reach their destination is sometimes totally stupid...i have quite a few examples for that. :)

Probably because taking obstacles into count when calculating the shortest route for a pedestrian would slow the game down a lot, especially in big cities.
