I know yall are aware of the minor problem but here is a funny screen shot to show you the current situation with Manchuko's builds... hehe

I just need to know exactly what I should change to get the CAV numbers down to a more reasonable number (say 25-30% of MAN's builds) . Do I just change the info in the MAN-1936_ai file and that's it ( of course I would modify the other numbers up to equal 100%) ?

Hi CyrusSpitama....when I was "banging my head against the China problem" a little while back (now, I'm just playing them as a human to see what could happen), I too felt that Manchuko had WAY too much calvary going on.....especially since the Nat Chinese don't realy have any to speak of in the game (when it seems they did in real life)......I'm not sure of the answer to you question (modding the AI files), however, I'm still not sure that reducing the calvary will totally fix the problem of imbalance in China! I added 210 divisions and still typically the AI could not stop Japan (it did once out of roughly 20 tries)....however there must be a way to make this work!

China is NOT meant to beat Japan unless they make mistakes :)

The only real issue is... with the game setup as is, it actually allows Japan to win more area than it did historically. I don't see this as a major issue since China's fighting power was so poor at that point, they might as well been non-existent. This is not to minimize the fighting that did occur but the bottom line is, the area that Japan had China confined to, saw few changes in the course of the war until Japan starting tapping all its reserves for the war effort.

I wouldn't beat your head too hard regarding China, there is already a mod that helps boost China and actually allows them to become quite a power should they win vs. Japan. Soon as that mod sees its newest release I'll be working to get it combined with DAIM so we can see China with more than the nominal 10-15% chance it has of beating Japan.

That is somewhat ahistorical but in the spirit of this game, nothing is fully historical. We just use history as a guideline for what to expect from the AI. Human players will completely change any possible programmed history the designers may intend.

To be honest, the goal (and least my current goal) is a permanent stalemate as long as both players are AI. Quite difficult, that, and it seems that minor mistakes either AI makes can cause the whole balance to go kaput.

Heh heh....by saying 1 out of 20 I mean just stalemate, not beat! ;)

That's all I was trying to do anyway was crerate more of a chance of a stalemate, never expecting China to win against Japan (at least during the WWII part of the game).....I added 210 divisions of militia; the last version I made added about 100 militia divisions in the middle of the country once Nanking fell....still didn't stop them! I was going down the road you are now by beginning to delete Manchuko divisions, and then I was going to delete even some Japanese divisions, but this might also add instablity.....I tried to lower the infrastructure to 10 in all internal provinces, but this didn't seem to slow them down either! I wish the AI for Japan vs. China was persistant across the entire game! What a fight that might be!

I hear yah Mib:)

In the context of the game though, a stalemate with China = Japan defeat (except for the events associated). Without those extra resources and IC, Japan's days become very numbered unless the other powers come to their aid.

I actually didn't plan on doing this, I just want Manchuko to have less CAV and more INF :) Also, removing Japanese divisions would truly cripple them.

I assure you , I fix this for the next release of DAIM ;)

I just want to be sure I am addressing the proper fix for now Spocky?

Just change the AI file(making sure total troop % = 100) and that's all that needs to be done?

Of course. There is only one AI file that needs to be changed and total = 100% ;)
