A tooltip delay setting in the options... From 0 to 5 seconds...

After about 1000 hours of play i don't need tooltips cluttering up the screen instantly ALL THE TIME.

Been quietly, desperately asking for this since CK I...

Been teased a few times that it might have been added for CK I, but clearly its a conspiracy now. There isn't even a way to mod it...

Especially since we are now promised(threatened) with tooltips WITHIN tooltips now. Nothing like more and more text pop ups to cover the screen...

Which is really annoying and it can potentially be very impactful. 1-2 seconds delay Before you can actually press on the buttons would be really nice.

I understand the frustration (albeit I cannot recall any event which "ruined the game"*) but 1-2 seconds are too much. After only a few dozen hours in 99% of cases you know exactly what a popup is about just by its artwork. So clicking the right decision (especially if it's a "OK"/"GoTo" Popup) is in most cases a no-brainer which is processed and executed in 0.2 seconds at most. Being forced to wait for another 0.8 to 1.8 seconds would be - to me - more infuriating than this occasional "ruins everything" misclick.

Bottom line: If such a delay was implemeted make it at least please optional.

*I know that you specifically didn't say that (at least not in that post I quoted above - I don't know if you said something like that in other posts and it doesn't really matter) but I've read such statements in almost any thread about this topic.

I don't think I ever had problems with events but it is pretty annoying to have to keep the cursor on the sea so that I can see what happen on the map.

What about add a 'no-tooltip' button? (i.e. if you keep CTRL down tooltips don't come out)

Nah... after begging, pleading, asking, bribing (seriously offered some cash), and other methods for about ten YEARS! I can do an annoying title for this subject if I want to without any guilt whatsoever...

And to rub some salt further into your wounds... you DO realize...with your 2700+ posts of experience that- a TOOLTIP with the content of the POST pops up if you hover over the title... you gotta wait for it. Wait... and,... there it is! THAT was the joke there which you clearly missed in your haste to contributing so usefully to the topic.

How do I hover over the topic with a smartphone? Bad subject in any case.

Also I agree that there should be a delay you can modify. Tooltips never bother me but it's a logical option to have.
