Re: Sprites levels

The sprites changes according to if it is a light, medium, or heavy tank. L-1 for light, L-2 for medium so on. Aircraft does that as well, basic, improved and advanced. Currently there is not way for each model to be represented.

One of the reason why sprites don't change when new tech is invented is because many countries don't have their own sprites so they use the C-MIN sprites. However all major countries use their own tag (i.e USA use C-USA), so they don't change at all. It does change when one play as a minor (they all use the MIN tag).

They would change if they all have their own sprites.

Well, indeed, some major countries sprites do change, like GER tanks, its only a matter of having different levels. Those that doesn´t change (life GER Bf-109 fighter) its because they are GER L-1 and there´s no GER L-2 sprite, isn´t it? I have no experience in this area, so maybe im wrong.

sprite levels

Hi all

Absolutely, Germans tanks change because they have their own tank sprites (using C-GER tag) and their fighter don't because as you said they don't have a L-2 fighter. Now if you give them a sprite for L-2 using the GER tag then they would change.

Some majors like the Italians and the US don't have their own sprites for tanks or airplane. They then use the MIN sprites, but for some reason they don't change even if there are sprites levels for it. Notice that minor countries sprites change.

I think it is the code that get confuse switching between the MIN tag and the countries specific tag.

It would be sweet indeed to have a trigger inserted in the tech's that looks for the specified .bmp, just like the one for events.
This would enable each new model to have a unique spite. The only problem I can see is making the tech trigger country specific. Any ideas or thoughts on this?

One added thought, this would also enable Inf. Mech. and Mot. spites to change as well, hmm : )

Also, how do I rename the "post-war fighter", for the swedish army, to (for example) J9?

For that you need to go into the models .csv file locate post war fighter and rename it to what you like. then save. hope this helps .
