I have disabled all mods​

Summary​

All of both peoples and animals textures are missing and instead only matte black.

Expected Result​

People’s clothes to actually load in proper textures.

Actual Result​

All of the people’s clothing was matte black including animals.

Steps to reproduce​

I loaded the game and the textures didn’t load and still do not.

Description​

All of the characters (animals included) lack textures and possess matte black colouring. This happened since the update. I have un and reinstalled the game to no avail. I have created new saves and nothing has changed.
I am running the dlc of industries, parklife, natural disasters, art deco and high tech buildings and after dark.

I don't know what could cause this on an Xbox. Please try these steps


- uninstall the game from the Xbox
- clear the Xbox cache and game files (save game data)
support.activision.com

- install the game again
- test with a new city BEFORE restoring any save games

It didn’t work, I even tried both methods of cache clearing. Also I forgot to mention I have matchday, pearls of east and carols and Christmas radio installed which are dlc.

Also I just discovered that they initially render properly at great distance then when close switch to black though only sometimes do they render properly at great distance.

I have no idea then, there's really nothing else that can be done on a console. Has this always happened for you?
 
I wonder if @MarkJohnson or other experienced console players can help? I'm out of ammo on this one!

* I have not experienced this issue. I'm thinking graphic problem.
* As a former GameStop manager may I suggest a few ideas.
* If you have the ability, try a different HDMI cable.
* Try changing the graphic settings on your TV/Console.
* Are you perhaps playing on an older TV?
These suggestions may not help, but their at least easy to try.

It seems to be a bug or something, it’s not to do with my tv or connection, I’ve change settings on them and nothing happened. I’ve also reinstalled it many times, deleted all of my cloud data and tried it on cloud gaming to no avail.
Also not only does it affect my remastered game but also standard Xbox one edition.

If you can, try a different TV.
* You might want to try a different power cable. Xbox 360's would perform poorly with power issues. If your plugged into a surge protector, try without it to see if it's gone bad.
* Have your Xbox run a diagnostic test on itself to check your internet to make sure it's all good.
* Try rebooting your router.
I have Cities on both PS4/XBOX series x and their both fine. Sorry.

This seems way too extreme of a fix. Quite frankly, I'd blame game settings. I don't see how a cable can cause a specific issue. Worst case, just play with blackout of cims.
 
I was hoping you could just switch tv's or take your system to a friend's house to test. As I've suggested I have not experienced your issue. My suggestions are just the questions I would ask customers trying to resolve their issues. I hate to suggest you buy something you might not need. When I worked at GameStop we had people being in their systems for us to test and help trouble shoot . If you have one near by it's an option for you.

It wouldn't be the television because otherwise the other games would have problems. Plus it's happening to me too and my television is new.
 
Are you all on Xboxes? If so what exact model?

i wonder if there has been a system update that caused this.
 
I apologize for not noticing before, I'm vision handicapped in my left eye and I rarely walk around my cities. But I did so yesterday and noticed a mixture of people with textures missing. Not all are missing textures some are fine.
* I normally play on my Xbox series x , but I turned on my PS4 a moment ago and the issue is present there also. I notice some cims are missing textures some are not. Some have textures blinking on and off as they move. Train station on PS4. And Xbox one x Japan plaza and Rail Station.
*The PS4 does not have the new Map Pack 3 added at this point only the update.

I'm not really across the console edition, but I'm not aware of any recent update to it that might have triggered this - when was the last such game update on consoles?

If nothing recent, maybe this has been happening for a while but has only just been noticed? Is that possible?
