All saved games eventually corrupting within an hour of play.

Whenever I play Ironman right now, eventually I will get an error that informs me that the annual autosave function failed and the popup asks me if I'm using any illegal characters as my save file or if I have enough memory in my computer, both of which am not and I do, respectively.

Using Windows XP Service Pack 3. Had no troubles before the update.

I am having the exact same problem - when outside of Ironman, the game allows me to save but when returning to these save games, I'm told they won't work.

Do you guys have 32 bit operating systems and how much RAM do you have available when playing the game?
Also how many cosmetic DLC's do you have?

I do have a 32 bit operating system and my Ram is pretty low at 2 gigs. However, this hasn't caused me any trouble before. The game has run a little slower than optimal on maximum speed, but I never experienced the save corruption that happens right now. That only happened after the new patch. I have every DLC installed outside of The Republic and the new Rajas DLC. And I have almost every single unit and face pack downloaded outside of the new ones.

Edit: I just read your response in another thread. I'll disable the cosmetic DLC's when I get home and see if that does anything.

I'm 32 bit with 4gb of RAM; all the major DLCs, but few cosmetic ones - I re-installed the whole game fully (deleting everything in the documents and programs folder) as was advised elsewhere and now the game just crashes on start up (particularly when flags are being loaded). Oh dear. I have the exact same issue now running without any DLC selected.

Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. Zip up your whole Documents/CK2/logs/ directory and attach or link that here too please.

I have this issue on my 32bit system - but want to say the 'quick save' feature works. If you try to save and name it it is broken - if you use 'quick save' it can be reloaded.

To update: After disabling all of the cosmetic DLC, performance noticeably improved and I stopped having the issues with the game crashing on me and the saves corrupting 20 years into the game. Thanks a lot. I guess I have to get a new gaming PC eventually.

My main issues with the game right now is the 5 second monthly save on Ironman that many other people in the forum seem to be having as well. Otherwise with all cos mods turned off, the game runs much better for me here. But that 5 second wait time every month is a killer. It lags the game quite a lot.
