Have reached sept '47 as Germany, and have annexed a a few other nations along the way and have finally come to the point where i can annex the USA, except it crashes as soon as i try! have tried ending all other programs and stopped running virus software and restarting to no avail, help! have version 1.3a, no mods

The same thing keeps happening to me, except the UK instead of the USA.

Also, I've tried playing other nations and each time Germany goes to annex UK the game crashes.

I wanted to say, for the sake others, that i waited until the end of the month (about 15 days in this case) when the game autoaved, and right after the autosave, i annexed the uk, and the game didn't crash.

You would know what fp meant is you read the sticky threads in this forum, specifically the one that says "You must read this BEFORE posting"
