Hi, im very new to this excellent game, and i had a question. (sorry for my english)

Im playing with Australia, and i decided to send a few divisions to Africa, to gain combat experience.
but... can i coordinate my attacks/defense with the allied troops?
I dont mean to take charge of their divisions, only some kind of "cooperation and coordination" between the allied armies

Thanks for the help

The only sort of coordination available is to take military control of your allies. Otherwise, they're going to do their own thing, which may or may not be what you want. (BTW - your English is excellent)

you could try the 'support attack' order on any provinces you think is likely that your allies will attack.

Alternatively for defence, you could bring your units into a central province and give them the 'reserves' order, and any province that comes under attack will have your units enter more quickly. Though I don't think this works if allies come under attack, so a scattering of your forces along a defensive line would be necessary for this.

Failing that a better way might be to concentrate all your forces together and focus on one of the flanks, watch out for battles taking places and join in the fun. You may even get opportunities to spearhead a thrust as part of an encircling maneouvre, there are a good number of opportunities for this in the African theatre.

If it is just a couple of divisions and the goal is only to gain experience as you say, then the best course would be to get them in the theatre and send them as an expeditionary force to the UK, iirc you will still get the notifications etc when they are entering battle (am a little hazy on that though) so you'll be able to observe them in action.

Thanks for your answers
I do as you say ecnan02 and pdbravo, and i supported his attack, but when this was repulsed, in the enemy counter attack i was left alone. I supposed maybe i can ask for their help (we are "allied" = ) but im afraid that in defeat im on my own.
Thanks again

Only for informative sake, I tell i do as you say and send them as an expeditionary force, to learn how my forces are managed:

1- You dont get any notifications when entering a battle.
2- One of my Divisions suddenly disappear (i think was destroyed) :(
3- The leader of my corps also disappear and was replaced by a "generic" leader, that i cant replace it as long as the corps is in english hands, so no General is gaining any experience.

it didnt go as planned. I was very capable of having a division destroyed by myself :D

well, is the cost of learning, isnt it? Thanks for the help anyway

aha learning is good :D

I usually play as UK so don't send exp forces much but do receive them. I think I sent my strat bombers out before to see what would happen, and I kept getting notifications of 'has arrived'. They kept sending the bombers all over the place and before they'd even had chance to regain their org they got sent somewhere else again. I strongly suspect the commander of the group was bribing the country I sent them to in order to get holidays all over the world but I can't prove it.

support your ally with air, naval force, have your troops stay with your ally's army so they won't be left alone, take a look on the map. If your ally starting to attack the other province, have your troop support them. Support attack and don't attack or try to outrun your ally if you just sent a few units and only want some fun and experience. You don't want a corp of 3 infantry take a full blow of German panzer corps while the British's army are far behind!

I once played as a lesser Axis nations before and supported Germany fight again USSR

my advice would be to get as large an expeditionary force as possible and keep it all together. That is the only reliable way of having some control over the overall state of military affaris. There is no good way to coordinate with your allies. If you can afford to send troops over to africa, then you can probably afford to do an amphibious landing and open up a new front in north africa. Do that and you may be able to even get your own provinces in Africa :) Look at the movements of your allies troops and try to 'support attack' a province they might attack. Also you can conquer a province, then quickly retreat and if an allied nation is in the area they will reenforce that province with their own troops. Advance into territory conquered by your allied armies when an advance needs some reenforcements, so it does not get beaten back.

I agree with what most of this guy said
