allies of an attacker

It seems to me it's a very basic question, but I didn't find the answer on this board.


If I declare war on some nasty neighbor, are my allies automatically asked to join? Am I supposed to ask them to join? Or are the alliances only defensive?


I declared war on spain, but none of my allies joined in the war. There was no message stating they choose not to join, either. So I don't know if I was supposed to do something to request their help, if they were automatically asked but declined, or if an allie never join in the war when you're the attacker. Or....if it's some sort of bug (It seems I get several issues with the game)

Set the call on allies message as a popupbox with pause in ur settings. In ur case there prolly is some shield in the top right of the screen to click on to call in ur allies.

Just tried it, and it works perfectly (actually I set up boxes for more or less everything...I'll sort them out later. better safe than sorry) I was able to repay one of my loans. For the allies, it's too late, the war is over.

I'm surprised the default set up doesn't include such things. I'm wondering how you're supposed to call on your allies and do various other things otherwise...


Anyway, thank you a lot...I'm going back to the game...
