Hello Everyone. I posted this earlier in another thread, but I was suggested to post it here as there's a good chance that the devs might see it if this gets upvoted enough. So I'm putting it here! Please let me know what you think as I believe this might really help with immersion/historical reality. Not to mention just making the game more flavorful and fun.
I wanted to know why embassy missions that get established don't have ambassador's that are attached to them. Historically, diplomatic missions or trade missions were executed by individuals who the state trusted to do so. (Whether that be Roman, or some other state at the time period) So it seems odd to have such a large number of characters without really having the opportunity to give them jobs - of which this kind of job would be so important.
1. Character traits & loyalty could all have major impacts/factors on how successful the diplomatic mission will be. Perhaps sending that uncouth or aggressive character will hinder the success of your mission.
2. Insults I think could also serve in the same function. Sending a particularly nasty character could draw the enemy into a war immediately. Or perhaps that individual was so reviled that they were killed, etc. It just feels like there could be so much more in this area.
While I realize there are probably many who have critiques of the Diplomatic systems in the game, I really do believe in any rework there has to be an inclusion of the characters as part of it.
