With the map getting larger, I have the worry that my PC (already at least 8 years old and no new one in sight) might not be able to handle the counties and mechanics to be added with the East Asia expansion.

So I had an idea: What if for those with worse PCs a gamerule regarding the number of counties and baronies on the map could be implemented?

So for example at standard level, you would have a number X of counties and baronies, and you could use a gamerule to get less without the deletion of China or Southeast Asia.

How would that work? Would four provinces become one or something?

The game cant support map changes as a game rule. If you pc cant handle the map expansion, im afraid you will have a few choices:

- use a mod that removes asia (like the one that removes India);
- dont update the game (locking you out of future patches);
- buy a more powerful pc;

To test if your pc can handle the map expansion, i recommend trying the map expansion mods that exist today. The one that will be probably the closest to the real expansion will be the Asia Expansion Project. That mod only add a little bit of New Guinea (like pdx plans to do) but they dont have east Africa. East Africa shouldnt be that many provinces. Also the eastern power are admin (the celestial gov will be a type of admin). That way you can probably see if the eastern admin realms will slow down you pc.

And there was the other option of turning the graphics settings down...
