While playing as a Stark King from the earliest Bookmark I looked at the Karstark Line and I'm curious why Karlon the First isn't considered the founder of that dynasty. I know he's a Stark by birth, but he's the one who changed his name to Karstark... at least from few sources I've researched.

It took a few generations for the name to contract "Karhold Starks" to "Karstarks". It wasn't an over night thing. However, Karlon was the one who founded the line that would eventually be known as Karstarks.
