If both an overlord and a vassal have claims to the same system in a war the overlord should get the system in the event they win the war or its an occupied system in status quo peace. This is only logical.

Agreed. Until they make negative loyalty have real consequences, all these suggestions basically just boil down to treating vassals like you conquered them (without paying influence for claims, or taking on empire size, or having to administer them, or getting border friction, or...).Historically speaking, sometimes vassals have to be appeased or there's rebellion or other difficulties. So even if improvements are needed, I don't think the solution is for vassals to just take whatever abuse you give.
