Annexation bug?

While playing Germany my allies, Japan, tried to annex Nationalist China, which caused the game to crash. I suspect the game might have some extension conflict as the FFDshow (video/audio codec pack with subtitle support etc.) icon was active when the game exited to Windows. I have installed what I belive are unofficial mods though called "Hotfix" & "1.3b AI update".
 
Those are official mods.

You may want to try uninstalling the game then get a copy of 1.3a direct from the Paradox website, then only apply the 1.3B AI update. THat way you do not need the hotfix, since 1.3a includes it.

You can also rename the AVI folder to AVI_back, make sure your video driver is up to date, and your operating system. and that nothing is running in the background.

If you still have a problem then you should report it as a bug following the instructions outlined in the sticky thread on "how to report a bug"
