Well done, I've been trying to understand their strategy for years without success. If you have an answer, you're a champion. Between Paradox who doesn't answer and the players who are flat on their backs who thank Paradox at the slightest thing that comes out and who protect the company like lapdogs, good luck.
There are no plans to revive the game. As far as I've understood, the patch is simply a few good people doing small anniversary maintenance to show good will and to support the work of the community and modders who are the ones really keeping the game alive now. Please show some appreciation instead of just coming to spread negativity without knowing the story.

Credit where credit is very much due, congratulations to everyone involved with this, I hope you all continue your magnificent work and hopefully these small patches that we seem to be getting every 9 or so months signal a willingness to revive I:R to an active project once again, coz you have the audience, you have people willing to buy and you have the fans and quite clearly the modding community behind you!

Make I:R great again!

If you have a paradox answer, you're a champion. They never answer and they don't care.
Well, we had an official answer, like, several times, and they are very adamant that any official paradox effort is not going to happen.

Some Paradox workers are dedicating their time to do some maintentance to help the modding community that is keeping this game alive, as it is. An interaction I find extremely satisfacting and, you know, interesting for a game that is not supported anymore. I don't want to tell you how to feel but the people that are working on this are doing it in their free time, without any specific gain in mind, sooooo... that's kinda the opposite of not caring, don't you think?

Never thought I would see the day where a game that is not in active development, gets a patch of any type, and people are upset.

I am grateful a lot of the defines were taken out of hardcode lock.

That being said I am also disappointed in the bug fix pace of HOI IV and V3.

I might have missed this in this thread or somewhere else, but when did the fortify province improvement lose its +1 state fort capacity? That was in my opinion far more valuable than the .01 province loyalty. I don't want to assume a bug/unintentional, but maybe?

Still need ironman for achievements = :(

That is a bug, should get fixed in the hotfix (or by a mod)

It underperformed.
Above all, thank you to COVID, which was a godsend as a paradox to justify the shutdown. Without COVID, they wouldn't have stopped development. He told us that there were not enough people to develop the game and that he was going to rebuild a team. They lied to us (some don't want to see it even after years). An even bigger lie given that Sweden didn't have a lockdown and therefore it didn't affect the company as much as in other countries.
Afterwards, the game was rotten when it came out, and no major DLC was added to give the game momentum. But that too is swept under the rug; we don't want to see the truth.

Personally, one aspect of the pop system didn't sit well with me: when a pop is growing/migrating, it becomes useless. Since the process can take a while and with the number of territories involved.... I much prefer Vic 3's system.
