in development, the drawing of the map is nearly completed.

not to sound vulgar or anything, but i think i might blow my load so to speak when this is finished...i've been hoping for something like this since victoria was released....i think its really the most promising paradox engine for all their time periods. Especially ww1 to modern day

Dude...calm down. Lol.

Hopefully now that the source code is released, this map can get going! Sadly there's still a lot more modding, mostly just giving the nations the right provinces. What I hope is that the map can still represent 1836-1920 borders.

that it most certainly does. that was the first consideration (1836-1935 borders, as that is the time frame for Victoria:Revolutions).

Second focus was on being able to depict modern borders as well.

Because it doesn't seem like 1930s Poland could be well represented.

I would have thought that the shape of the province boundaries would have made it clear interwar Poland was focused on. Yes, interwar Poland was one of the areas a good deal of time was focused on to make sure we had the borders for.

everything within the white border would be interwar Poland, including Vilnius.

Oh cool. Maybe if this is completed, it can go into one big Uber mod with WWI, WWII, and everything else. That's a good idea for a mod, late 1800s to WWII. I have to agree what that one guy said, I'll cream my pants when this is completed.

EDIT:

I REALLY need this, because I'm planning out a mod that takes place after WWI.

Looking at the map of the US at present.

Will it allow a reasonably accurate depiction of the Cherokee Nation prior to the Trail of Tears?

about as accurate as the current Vicky map, otherwise we'd have to add +1 province each to Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina to do true justice to it, which could cause issues later with things like immigration balance, since all 3 would become 5-province states.

Hmmm.... OK, fair point. I presume it'll be Chatanooga and Tuscaloosa then, or will Atlanta be included as well?

really haven't given it much thought at this point, probably would model it as VIP does, so the Atlanta region would be included.

Some great news. Jamie550's work on making a map creator utility looks like it has borne fruit. Still a couple of tweaks apparently need to be made, but it now looks very likely that Xie and I will be able to develop the Clio map as a freeware download thanks to Jamie's hard work.
