Hello.
Magicka version: 1.4.5.3.
Sometimes when your character is killed, "Defeated" inscription does not appear, and the game does not start from last checkpoint. Instead environment animation continues with every NPC on the scene standing still.
No multiplayer.
Fix would be appreciated =) There is a workaround though: you can kill game process and restart it. Then you can continue from your last checkpoint.
