Annoying problem

I copied this from Tech Support as Castellon rightfully meant it belonged here...

I've been following this thread a little while,cause suddenly I have got the same problem,it corrupts the autosave files,so when it ctd (and mind you I say when.. it cannot be reloaded by autosave and up to a point neither in oldautosave´.It should be said that I run the 31/10 patch of 1.04b.very annoying,but I sort of guess it is related to 31-10 patch? Needless to say that everything else is turned off when I play.

This has been happening for a while and definitelly ain't limited to the 31_10 beta patch or the betas in general. Though I guess there could be multiple reasons for this to happen. The best thing I can say is to save regularly (not just autosave), that way your chances are good to at least be able to step back a few years and continue play there.

P.S.: Though I do hope someone finds what's causing these corrupted save games.

You're right that it's not limited to 10/31, but it seems to have intensified in the latest patch. I'd get it periodically in 10/23 and once in a great while in the earlier patches, but I havent been able to get much past the mid 1100s in 10/31 (one game went into the 1200's but I remained a loser all the way thru, so it may be related to the player's (or non-player's perhaps also) size.

I'm about to give up on 10/31 and wait for the next patch. See what new adventures in geekland await us there!!!
