You can actually delete it as a workaround and roll back to the previous one. BUT if you have installed any other updates since then, you will have to remove them as well
It's really easy to do it:
1. When you go to shut off the system -> HOLD "SHIFT" key and press Reboot (keep holding the key untill the screen goes black)
2. When your PC reboots you will enter System Recovery/Troubleshooting mode
3. Navigate to (I have my system in a different langauge, so try to look for anyhting similar): Troubleshooting -> Additional Parameters/Options -> Delete/Remove updates
4. On that screen you will have 2 options to choose from -> select the TOP one (not bottom)
5. After the update was removed, you can click "Continue as usual" and boot back into your system
IF you have installed any more updates after that one, just repeat the steps up to (including) 4 untill you get to it. I only got one Windows defender update after the update for the system KB*some numbers*, so I did everything twice. The game now works as it did before the update: I can actually get into the map and save the game without crashes. The Vulkan suggestion did not help me. Neither did the registery editing.
There are no options to add comments to that one thread with possible solutions, so if needed, please, add this info there so more people see it
And don't forget to postpone any other updates once you booted back into the system!
P.S.
To check for the list of all installed updates and their installation dates: Settings - Update Center - Update Journal
