China was united under the Antiocheia Eschate satrapy, which was part of the Serindian Empire. It eventually broke off from them and conquered the Han Dynasty ( China was split between them after the initial Serindian invasion ). It then fell into a Three Kingdoms-esque period, with the outcome being that it was split into 3 realms. The ones in the southern coast and the heartlands are ruled by indigenous Chinese dynasties ( The heartlands one is under Lu Bu's descendants ) and the northern one by an Indohellenic one.

I guess that, since balkanization is the trend in LI, they split further but Shaytana's original plan was to have a Sino-Hellen invasion replacing the Mongols, so we may never know. We could have a background narrative telling how it was unified as a prelude to invasion like vanilla does with it's hordes, but I don't know.

Heheheh, I love all the questions ;)

One would think, and if China were included in the map, there probably would be. However, the idea of the Sino-Hellenic invasion is that they've conquered all of China and are pushing west in search of new lands to conquer. I'm thinking it'll come in waves. The first wave will be caused by a war between the Sino-Hellens and the Xiongnu, and will result in a massive migration west by said Xiongnu. Assuming you survive them, the main Sino-Hellenic invasion will commence some decades after that. That will be the most powerful one, with a lot of soldiers (representative of China's huge population) and little mercy. After that, there's a Viet-Hellenic invasion I had in mind, where it would be a primarily naval invasion into India and then possibly the Middle East and Europe.

What's the story behind the Lu dynasty and the Yellow Turbans ending up in Tibet?

edit: Just noticed someone altered the Three Kingdoms Era history in my SVN locker. Whoever did that did a smashing job. It's a lot better than whatever was there before :D

I guess I don't know exactly what happened. The Lu dynasty was originally supposed to be religious adherents that formed after his death in the Yellow River. Their presumed persecution led to them fleeing into Tibet. But since that didn't happen, I guess they don't belong.

The Yellow Turbans exist there under the implication that Zhang Jue successfully led his people to safety outside the reaches of the empire, where they have lived in relative peace ever since.

So it would be kinda like the Golden Horde and Ilkhanate (China and Vietnam respectively)? Interesting, I would imagine though that the Sino-Hellens would only go as far or slightly father than what the Tang dynasty had in the area. So just a good chunk of Central Asia and then stop, going further than that would be difficult since it requires supply lines going through a desert, silk road or not that's hard to do.

Hmm. Technically the Ilkhanate would be the first wave, so they'd be the Xiongnu. China would be the Golden Horde, you're right. Vietnam would be the equivalent of the Timurids.

True; but the Tang dynasty didn't have a historic and ethnic connection to the Mediterranean ;)

Are any of these invasions currently implemented in LI? If so, what are the time frames on them?

I quit my recent Mazdakist Persia game because Populist soul + Holy Wars = incredible rate of expansion, and I wasn't sure anything would be able to challenge me once I became an emperor.

Everything south of Somalia is being removed. Sorry.

When everything on it is finished, we'll release a post about all the new features and what's different/new. I don't know if you guys already know, but we're doing a completely new map.

The original/vanilla map with lots of tweaks right ?

Chance to work some of my modifications in? Egypt, Spain and Arabia, maybe? With less province-galore, of course.

That was the original plan. It is no longer.

Which modifications were these? Be specific, so I can get all of them. The provincial layout of this map was ported from vanilla so even though the dimensions are different, they require customization all over again.

odd. it still is in my game though.
