The game will be set in 3025, and the Roughneck and Uziel were created later in the timeline. Given success and expansions or sequels set in the appropriate timeframe, they could appear in those, but won't be in this game.

Or as DLC?

Or dose them being created by different companies mean they're forbidden?
ALL, each and every HBS BATTLETECH Mech started from PGI Mech Data.
In return HBS is providing Vehicle Data to PGI to use in MW5.
Unfortunately the Roughneck is from much later in the BattleTech timeline (3050'ish) than HBS's current BATTLETECH (3025).

Don't forget that Roughneck is non canon mech , its a PGI creation and its not part from battletech lore . The Uziel is 3065 IS mech and we probably will see the clan mechs before it .

I thought the Uziel was a non canon mech too, or atleast I read about a mech being created by Microsoft for MechWarrior 4 or something

I'm always prepared to be wrong though <_>

IIRC, Microsoft owns the BattleTech IP, so they can do what they want.

So many timeline appropiate 'Mechs to do first.
And hopefully "in Success" HBS will cut their teeth creating their own Mech Data for Mechs like the Wasp, Stinger and Valkyrie! : )

If memory serves, all the MW4 original designs (Uziel, Argus, Hellspawn, Osiris, MadCat Mk2) were retconned into TRO 30.....67 I think, I own it somewhere, wwill have to dig it out; So they are now considered canon.

Uziel along with many other MW4 'Mechs were introduced by Microsoft - Argus, Chimera, Osiris, Thanatos, and Hellspawn. - then added to canon after. The fluff of Roughneck and Sun Spider is supposedly canon for TT, but no word on if they'll ever appear in a TRO.

If my memory still serve me right i think you mistaken with several mechs created by MekTek and one of them i think was accepted in the lore , but ask me for their names i can not remember , the Uziel is not it was part of the canon and i think even was on one of the covers for TROs .

P.S. CycKath probably is right - it wasn't in the cannon in the begining but was accepted later.

P.S.S. After the clan ivasion i am not sure what was in the canon what is not .

Microsoft own the digital rights, Topps owns the physical rights (which CGL license). There are limits on what can and can't be used between them, thus why video game only stuff isn't automatically canon for TT, they have to negotiate inclusions.

Wow, talk about a mess. Then you get to add HG into the mix. We must have a strong community to be able to slog through to get new BT products fairly regularly.

I'm honestly surprised that the first post asking for an out of era mech wasn't about the Mad Cat.
That’s because the Timber Wolf already exits in 3025. It was introduced in 2945.
: ) And until BATTLETECH’s Solo-Campaign plays itself out, I am not counting anything out. #rememberMC2

What is Mad Cat . We have Timber Wolfs , Dire Wolfs and many other but Mad Cats :p

P.S. I am a bit troll about that , but i can not pass that one .

Yeah yeah, but they aren't seen in the IS until the invasion. Of course the clans were the biggest mistake in BT history and really never happened because Im positive the universe explodes in July of 3049.

Story wise - they are great , game mechanic - i am leaning more that they could be handled much better as balance , but mate i am clanner and i am proud of that i won my place there .

3067 is indeed the TRO where several MW4 'mechs were introduced to the official cannon.
