I'm playing as Poland (P-L Union, at this point). My alliance has been at war with the alliance of France and Spain for several years; Great Britain's alliance is also at war with them. In 1704, I make peace with Spain. At this point France has only one province not controlled by me or by Great Britain (Nain). My war score is 99. However, France will not accept any peace proposal, even a request for a single TP or 25 ducats. Any idea why this might be happening?

Does France have any armies, navies or allies left that are able to fight?
Or do they still occupy any enemy provinces?

They have navies, I don't think they have any armies left. They don't control any provinces of my alliance, it's possible they might control something belonging to GB's alliance.

Edit: Just checked the save file, France doesn't have any armies or navies and doesn't control any enemy provinces, Spain is still at war with the GB alliance and has armies and navies but doesn't control any enemy provinces.

It sounds like France is relying on Spain. Spain still has plenty of potential to win. A little surprising France won't accept a 1% peace to be fair, but yes if Spain has considerable forces left, that will be why.

Aye.

France's 1700-1715 AI scripting prevents it from making peace without a complete victory or complete defeat. It's a rarely used AI feature that is intended to model only Louis XIV and Napoleon - no other AI scripting uses the feature.

Aaaahh, interesting. Is that the 'ferocity = yes' in the AI files?

Aye.
