We all have this problem, the game starts lagging bad in late-game.
It's not ONLY about units and calculations, the game seems stuck in old deals and what-nots that have no impact on the game,
For example if you load a saved game you've played for 4 years in the 1940's it will lag alot more than if you start the 1944 and 1945 scenario despite there being alot more war and alot more stuff going on with more units.
Maybe some manual whipe of some sort? Anyone got any ideas? It's really annoying and alwaysk eeps reminding me why I don't play or even uninstall such a great game otherwise.
Also doesn't seem to be a difference on my 2.4 dual core ghz laptop compared to my 2ghz P4 stationary. Not much at least!
EDIT: Seems one of the issues is trade, with much trade going on there's much resourceflow to calculate.
Perhaps a mod autogrouping trade from different countries into one trade would fix it?
Or if there is a file I can change so the AI only checks resourceflow every week instead of ever day?
