Any reason to play HOI2 without expansions before adding expansions?

Hi,

Over the past years I have accumulated all of the HOI 2 + expansions, including Arsenal of Democracy. I haven't played them much. Is there any reason to play vanilla HOI2 without the expansions. Then play with 1 expansion, then add the next and build my way to Arsenal of Democracy?

Or should I really just jump to HOI2 + all the expansions, then play Arsenal of Democracy?

Not really,

Think of the expansions as building blocks built upon the former. Each expansions adds to the gameplay and enhances the gaming experience. As for AOD, it is a different verion of HOI2 and not really an expansion. I have never played it so cannot comment on that. Hoever for vanilla HOI2 start immediately with Arma and patch it to the latest version.

Well, this all kinda depends on you. DD is a very different game than vanilla, Arma is very different from DD, and AoD is very different from Arma. Sooo, you could have fun with all four different games, or just jump to whichever you like. I stayed a long time with DD 1.3, then upgraded to Arma 1.2, and haven't looked back. Generally, the farther along you get, the more streamlined the game becomes, but really it's whatever one strikes your fancy.

The expansions are better because they fix any bugs, add new units and best of all add more events.

(something that I really miss with PI games )
