Now that classes have been out for quite a while, I was wondering if there are any EU2 marathon games that are going to be played over the summer and, if not, would anyone be interested in starting one? I'm pretty much open anytime, so if anyone knows of any games like this currently running or would like to start one, I'm interested.

Yes.. some summer multiplayer EU2 would be good..

Well, I was thinking of starting one on tuesdays and/or thursdays...

I am tempted to do a tsunami-style marathon EU2 weekend as well :)

In principle I can host 15 players stable (depends on the connections of the players though) and more should be possible as well. If we then adopt a ruthless rehost policy (IE: we won't rehost if only one or two players drop) it could be interesting.

Even better one: fu-k them with bad connections, they can read a book instead of destroying the fun time the rest of us have playing EU will have ;)

I prefer FAST rehosts WEHN someone drops. Why? Because that is the most kind thing to do. I believe you should be kind to your fellow gamer as long as he deserves to be treated kindly. People with bad connections do not deserve to be treated kindly. They go around destroying the quality of life for the rest.

And yes, of course it may be difficult to draw the line. But once you have drawn it then be kind to those who have been accepted into the game.

If you have a good host and have people with good connections playing I say that presupposing some 10-13 players at most one rehost per evening (4 hour session) should be necessary and that is nothing, you can certainly pick up the dropper quickly, whether he is in war or not. Perhaps wait a month or so just in case he needs to reboot. In short: as soon as a dropper announces on ICQ that he is ready to jon a rehost, then you rehost.

You should do, you'd then gain my respect

As long as it isn't in the last two weeks of July

I am curious... In this "tsunami-style marathons", what does people do against "ghost" nations? Do "ghosts" even peace someone?

seeing as I finish with my last exam on wednesday, I have a lot of time to kill in the upcoming months. I would like to sign up.
Needs hamachi to join, but I'll make an attempt to work around it in the near future.

Playing on BN with players with cood connection it should be possible to play 30 years in 4 hours, let us say 7.5 years in one hour.

Of course, this presumes about max 1 rehost per 2 hours (and no sloppy performance during rehost), not going to SLOW speed when player vs player war.

The one thing speeding up things compared to usual games is that we won't miss these first 15/30 minutes that seem to get lost in every other game.

Now if we start at Friday say 18.00 and play to say 02.00 in the morning. Then sleep until 10.00 and then play until 02.00 Sunday morning and then sleep until 10 and then play until midnight. That is 38 hours.

38*7.5 = 285 years.

---------

But I am up for playing in the middle of the week as well. Say 10 consecutive evenings in a row or so.

Sterk, be the GM...

Also, what time are you planning? Weekend or weekdays?

No gf will tolerate that :D

My plan was something like 20 CET-24 CET every weekday during the summer, anyone up for that?

every weekday? no. some weekdays. yes

I think, that marathon would be to much exhausting for normal EU2 player, so I suggest that we may play in that kind of system :

every saturday and sunday between 16 and 20h (GMT +1) starting from 1st day of the next month.

If FAL would be host we may play 13 nations:
01. Portugal
02. Spain
03. France
04. Netherlands
05. Austria
06. Venice
07. Poland
08. Brandenburg
09. Denmark
10. Sweden
11. Ottoman Empire
12. Russia
13. England
