I think you could get maximum value out of this feature by placing the content block at the bottom of the forum pages, and turn unhappy reactions into mild engagement.

I also find it very annoying. My current most used forum is Battletech and as well as taking too much space it is also years out of date.
At the bottom or gone altogether would be fine.

Featured Content, just like all advertisement, makes me hate what I see and the one who forces it down my eyesight. Can we please get rid of it?

Now this is back again but this time I cannot hide it with ABP . . . could you please make it OPTIONAL ! ? ! ? ! ?
As much as we keep asking, its quite obvious we're just gonna keep barking into the void, as the forum adminstration seems to be hard set on keeping this space-wasting garbage on the top of the forum. I too would like this removed.
