Decided to run a 1.9 playthrough to see if it holds up to memory while I wait for my favorite mods to catch up to 4.0, but I forgot an old favorite feature from those days, the sector system.

1.9 sectors suck badly enough I want to mod them out and I'm currently looking for a mod that'll work.

Finding mods that old is challenging, I'll probably find one if I look long enough, but I figured I'd ask if anyone could save me some time.

Anybody got a 1.9 era mod that removes the cap on planets directly controlled by the player?

I don't have a specific mod for you, but:

What you could do is filter the Steam Workshop to only show mods that were last updated before February 2018.

That will only give you mods from before 2.0, which according to the Steam Workshop, is about 2,500 of them.

You could further narrow down this search with the keyword "sector", which narrows it down to 85 results, the most popular of which are all sector removal mods.

Here's a link to the search described above: Link

Thanks, that helps, though I've found a bit of a workaround.

One of the comments sections for a broken mod that used to fix the problem had a simple solution.

if you just go into the static_modifiers folder of the stellaris folder and click on the first option you'll see a long list of modifiers and what they do.

Scroll down until you get to the inefficient planetary management modifier and delete all effects.

so far it works great, though I'm still going to hunt down a decent mod so I don't have to dig through the files every time I set my game to 1.9
