Anybody wanna play a regular MP game?

Hi. I would like to play a multiplayer game at the same time each week, maybe one or two nights a week. I am thinking we could play like Monday and Thursday, or Tuesday and Friday night from like 7:00 pm until 11:00 or midnight. That would be New York time, which is really late in Europe (1:00 am to 5:00 am cet).

We could play Armageddon 1.2 or the 1.3 beta, with the 4 or 8 air stacks. I can do any of those.

I'm new to multiplayer so I don't really know what rules should be.

Come on, guys, let's play a friendly regular game and have a good long war! :cool:

so weekends are out?Im mtn time which is 2 hours behind new york time.Im going away but am available Feb 14.Contact General Joshua he was also interested in starting on that day.Look for his post in this forum,he lives in Chicago.Its better we have N American players as time differance in Europe is too steep.I dont play mp on weekdays.Im thinking once a week (sat or sun afternoon)3-4 hours per session.

No, sorry bairdlander. I am busy most weekends during the day. I could play sunday night, but that is it. That's why I suggested weeknights, because that is when i can play.

If we could get 2 more players we could get something started. It would be better to find peeps in NA time zones as the Euros are usually in bed by the time we would play.
 
Rules?.....we dont need no stinkin rules!

Well the fewer rules the better.

A few guide lines may be helpfull.

Decide pre-game what kind of game you want - Historic/Free

Historic game players should try stay with historic DOW, dates of DOW and Allies.

No exploits! (If you think its a bit dodgy...it usually is :cool:)

Saved games could be loaded post game to avoid any host edits... or suspicion of :D

You may like to tweak it with a few rules here and there.

Some flexibillity with DOW rules make for a more intense game.

Ok that works for me.....I'm assuming Sunday or Monday will be our next session?
 
I just popped in vnet........it doesnt look too promising. I'll keep checking back. :cool:

Hi snoopy I should have accepted the 2v1 with you and Bairdlander today, I definitely think UK and USSR is far superior but I didnt realize how inexperienced bairdlander is until playing with him today, so we could perhaps do that if nothing else.
 
Proposed time

I propose that we play on sundays and mondays at 7 pm eastern time, and play for four hours each. if we are all available on another night, we could add an extra session. this week i can play on thursday and will be in vnet at 7. if geo, kt and mass are there too (bairdlander doesn't play on weeknights he said), we can start. otherwise we start sunday.

what about rules? i think it would be cool to try a rule that limits factories. me and a couple other guys tried to start a game with a rule that all factories had to be completed by 1/1/38, but then panzer general and his posse took over that game and it became just another regular rules abandoned in 1939 game.

and countries? i would like to play any country but italy.

write back and maybe we can get a good long game started.

That time frame should work for me. As far as rules are concerned, I'm open to any suggestions, and of course there is mine, Aussie and Hiensens rules as well. The IC idea doesnt sound all that bad, it would need to be extended until like march of 38 cos the russians will finish their second run by then.

I just read your rules. they look fair but i haven't played enough games to really judge. as for the ic rule if ussr starts his ic right away instead of getting rid of all dissent first he can get two runs of ic in. :p decisions decisions decisions haha. but i wouldn't mind changing it or playing regular. just a suggestion.

looks like i can play tonight so i will probably be in vnet at 7. if you guys are too that would be cool.

Ok have spoken to all concerned and we should be able to start this coming monday. game will be played mondays and wednesdays or at least mondays. confirmed are:

Well if I'm right about this then we have 3 experienced players and 2 noobs. It's a good idea to let someone who knows how to play Germany, play Germany. Also, we may want to get a 6th player so we can play Japan and USA.

There is a rule that I would like to incorporate and that would be, no human France. We all know that the Western Allies can either beat Germany or drain their MP significantly. I was thinking of modifying my rules to incorporate that. Instead of France/USA, I say Canada, Aussie, New Zealand or SA; then after vichy a human player can take over USA.

Other than that, It would be nice to get a weekday game going again. I hope that people are being sincere. I'll take Aussie/USA, Germany, or UK in that order thanks!
