Our Modding Community is working on it and there are some “first cuts” being spoken of and offered up, but it is my understanding that several of the most well known Mods are still in the process of being tooled up and polished. : )

To quote Mitch, “Soon.” :bow:

Currently there is an issue with the mod loader where when mods are activated, the new flash point type chained missions with heavy metal wont propagate.

It's very frustrating as several mods actually are good to go right now other then that particular issue. And there doesn't seem to be any sort of workaround anyone has come up with...... yet. So we're hoping HBS can figure it out on their end fairly quickly. I know it's well beyond my current skill set. Mods don't entirely break the game, it is playable, but some of the new missions types just aren't going to happen for you.

Pretty sure that it's a secret comstar plot.

There's an "updated" sort on the mods at nexusmods that I find useful to check; I'm adding mods into a heavy metal career as they get updated, so far using 1.8 compatible versions of PanicSystem, Scorched Earth, Retrainer, Better Headlights and the old version of SkipIntro which works fine.

A lot of the old mods work just fine. Skip to leopard, skip travel, skip intro, My own sandman mod, Hyades Rim mod (much goodness there), Custom Salvage Flashpoint the Raid JK_Pilots and of Commander portait loader, mech resizer, Panic system.

The game is playable but you just don't get flash point missions, they're borked.

I haven't tried any of the mech engineer based mods such as 3062, etc. They're not really my thing. And they're seriously resource intensive..

Some of the mods older mods if they haven't been specifically updated for 1.8 will need a little TLC and massaging of the mod.json file to get em to work correctly in some cases.
If you try that make changes to one mod at a time. trust me.. that way you know whats to blame when it doesn't work. Or you just wait for the makers to update...

As of version 3.0, Hyades Rim has all its features working, although some in a limited manner as a way to bypass the mod loader's issues.

It currently includes:
* 98 new star systems
* 14 new factions, with new contracts
* A ton of modded and canon 'Mechs
* Ancestral 'Mech is now a pirate Vulcan equipped with two Inferno launchers
* Starting 'Mechs are all pirate versions

I keep trying (and failing) to get just Mech Engineer to work on its lonesome so I can play an otherwise vanilla experience. There's much I like about the 3062 and so forth, but the resource intensiveness doesn't get along with my potato laptop... and then there were the LAMs in some or other.
