I am just using EEP as an example same idea but pooling resources for HOI. There seems to be alot of individual modding going on and if we can capture all of them and put them together maybe when can have something ready when 1.04 comes out.

Oh sorry Kaarle. EEP was a mod for EU2 that pooled a bunch of people that were modding thier game such as adding events changing the AI scripts together. They put together tons of events to add flavor to games and make smaller nations more fun to play. Check it out on the EU2 forum under the scenario editing.

Oh....thanks! I played IGC a lot, and I've also got EU2, but I've never downloaded any mods for it, only patches...
 
Ok once we get enough interest we can start to hand out different tasks for different individuals. Each person tell me what things they would like to work on such as certain nation events that they have a good knowledge on, certain AI's or leaders. I will start to compile a list of people and what they want to contribute. Also if Trip, Bolt and any other Modders allow us I would love to use many of their events that they have written previously. Think of this as a compilation of works not competition. Here are a few ideas let me know what you think.

1. Name - EHOI (Enhanced Hearts of Iron)

2. Lets run this as a democracy a majority of people must agree on things added to have it installed within the MOD

3. Hey Dan Cook could you possibly host this on your Web site?
If not I can create a site.
 
I think an EEP like mod for HOI would be a wonderufl idea.

More events!

LIke, a definate time for the Rome-Berlin-Tokyo Axis to happen, And germany would Declair war on THE USA along wiht its Japanese allies (pearl harbour could be like the invasion of poland, happends automaticly if you follow historical choices).

So far, the European allies are all along aganst Germany, and the US never comes in to help them.

Also, could we get into non historical events? like asassiantion of hitler, being successful?

Maybe some events upon conquring Various provinces. Maybe when you capture London, you can nab the king or CHurchhill?


Hrm...so many possiblities....
 
I could focus on minors and such like Thailand.
 
OK, I am compiling a list of people with what they have expressed interest in. I will post the list once we get more people interested. If there are any history buffs out there speakup because there will be lots of research that must be done such as missing leaders and event ideas. Do not be shy people even if you do not know how to mod that does not matter since we need ideas just as much as we need code modders. If you want to get involved just say so and I will put you on the list. Also express what things you would like to contribute.
 
I have already done some modifications to many scenarios (1936, 39 and 41) for many of the nations to give them a more historic deployment and corrected many problems.

I am a big fan of the EU2 AGC mod, and am particularly interested in the program that they created that allowed customization of EU2 according to individual preferences. Something like that would be good for the HOI mod. It could allow you options like...

India as a puppet nation of England or totally integrated India.

Different files used (i.e. if you are playing as Germany, you can give other nations modified and tougher scenario files, but not affect Germany).

Or basically add or subtract certain contraversal events, or if there are two versions of the same event (both good, but offer different things) you could pick and choose yourself which to use (instead of us forcing one event over the other).

Something like this could avoid problems encountered in the EEP. We should also try and just mod significant events, as I am sure that people just don't want to have to play the game clicking "OK" for all of these events that appear every few seconds of gameplay. Also, we want events to add flavour and help guide players, not direct players. However, I would like the AI to be guided as to try to follow history, but to react to unhistoric moves by the player.

Good points! I actually envision a VB program that will have a selection window during install which will allow you to pick and choice which events you want etc etc... I have started working on it and I have the basic layout but I will wait to see how this works out before I go on.
 
I'd be interested in helping with ideas for events, especially as minor-majors like Italy, but...as for coding, I'm next-to-lost. It seems easy enough to learn, but, well, is it?
