Anyone with any experience with Roger Wilco and HOI1 or 2?

Downloaded RW - installed - set up channel - Friend did same - BUT it did not work, either in game or without game. We are connected via Hamachi ("LAN" through the internet), which may have something to do with the situation.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions. My guess is that my DSL router is getting in the way. I'll try to get my friend to "Join" using the router IP.
I looked at ventrilo and it seems (just from forums) that it has router issues as well. I'll check out skype.
Cheers,
Mike

Hello

Riger wilco and host a group conversation, or maby you can use voice com via MSN.

anyway..

I have used Roger Wilco, in HOI2 one time, also i used voice comunication via MSN 1 time, when playing.

Its little strange but effective after a while. I did not know any of the players i spoke to at all, so it took a few min in getting mic set with correct sounds ect, so the player anderstood what i saied, also i recommend you not to use voice com on coop, evan if it teoreticly shoud be more effective.

I used it 1 time on coop, as i cooped USA, and it was a loittle complecated to agree on what work i had and what work the other had... Better was it when i was Germany, and my allied had MSN voice (ITA) that worked good, however you should have a mic with on/off button, i have, he didnt so i here his music ect... no good, but if you bouth have on/off butt on mic, and turn on whan talking,m it woks good i think.

It shoud be agreed on before start what area who has responsibilety over, or it get to mush time on discussing that. Agree on that first and its better.

Roger wilco works fine with HOI and HOI 2. I have used it with friends since HOI first came out. We play in the aussie group and i use wilco many times during the week. So no issues here.

Like you said it is more likely a router issue, there trickey buggers. I suggest you try getting wilco setup before you play hoi 2 and test it, making sure both sides can hear clearly and so on. You might want to check out the many router threads on these forums, they will help alot. If not searxh the web for help with your model of router, thats what i did.

Good luck.
