If you don't know what I'm talking about, whenever the byzantine empire is shattered (ie chinese invasion, crown authority too low) the byzantine empire will forever exist in constantinople even though every other province has become independent

I'm just wondering if there's a way to disable that

Edit: woops, just realized that I put emperor instead of empire in the title

What I know I that if an Empire has too few counties (<100?) it gets destroyed but there are some titles protected against it (the BE and some other more).

I thought that this was the only protection the BE had, because I remember some time ago that I was playing as someone else and it exploded in the duchies that make it up (which btw frustrated my intentions to get a claim on it). After the sudden explosion I investigated a bit and discovered that it was due to low CA (they had a ton of rebellions).

I like the fact that large kingdoms/empires explode, the problem is the BE gets a special protection that its title isn't destroyed

Yes, it's a maintenance event. No idea which one it is, but since it explicitly excludes the BE it should be listed as to find and remove that exception.

which folder would that be under?

edit: I think I found it, is it the ck2plus_maintenanceevents.txt?

is there a good reson for these empires to have exception? :)

ERE at late starts would get destroyed on game start. Latin too...
Timurid and Aztecs are a special case, they start from a small area and expand.
Karling is there because there's a scripted imperial collapse and we want to prevent the two systems from coliding.

TL;DR: Yes.

Ok. But would not that mean that the definition of an empire is to harch? :) If it could exist an empire with less size historically, should not other small empires be allowed too?

Or... Tweak the event to degrade the empire to a titular Kingdom?

No, because a) AI is stupid and easily confused and b) it's ridiculous to have a bunch of tiny empires.

Or... Tweak the event to degrade the empire to a titular Kingdom?

That.... might not be a bad idea.

Is AI empererors scripted to count on beeing at a minimum size and takes naive decisions if they are not?

I'm not sure what you're asking here, but let me rephrase my last answer. AI is dumb and usually doesn't know it's place.

A small Empire of Hispania is more redicolous than a small ERE, I take it?

The point is that if you don't have imperial realm size, you're not an empire. The exceptions are only because of the historical setup. This will not change.

Goddie, that clarifies. My question was if tiny empire AI acted as a grand empire AI.

The existiance of this Empire - purger is great! Likes it a lot and did not know it existed untill this thread!! And I´m definiatly not in a position to request you to change anything in your brilliant Mod. Thanks and keep up the good work!

There used to be a special case where Byzantium would be destroyed if Constantinople was captured. I'm guessing that has been removed?
