Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
When I select "online multiplayer" from the main menu, it almost imidiately give a message of " failed to connect to UDP relay; your multiplayer experience may be limited. Please check your NAT configuration if this keeps occuring". I have played this game online with my friend since I got it, we rarely have any issues with multiplayer, besides the occasional desync. But now we can't even see any games online, I can host but no point because none can see my games. The only reason I got this game is to play multiplayer as single player gets very repetitive very quickly. The AI can only do so much. Note: I have a NAT 2 connection, this is a new issue as of about two weeks ago, nothing in my router settings has changed and it was working fine before the game made me update.

When did the game make you update? Because there has been no new update for this game since May 2021!

If this worked until 2 weeks ago, the issue has to be outside the game. Perhaps the servers, or your ISP.

I started the game up for the first time in months about 2 weeks ago and it updated upon starting the app. So I assumed it was a new update.
 
Not sure what that could have been; you're sure it wasn't the launcher updating, but the game itself?

I got them to reboot the servers yesterday, is this still an issue now?
 
Hey guys, as stated Planetfall has not had a update since May of 2021. This means that any sudden issues connecting to multiplayer are either local (your PlayStation System settings or Router Settings) or on Sony's side. My recommendation would be to first check whether your Router has not had a Firmware update that potentially could be the cause of this or any increased security settings.

If neither of those pan out, we'd need to look for commonality between your setups. Wireless or Lan connections, Router Brands etc.

Planetfall offers tons of content to enjoy post Campaign, players can enjoy random maps and with the Triceratops Update we even added the Empire mode, in which you are able to play even harder games and acquire persistent rewards for your next game.
 
I only just installed and started playing a week ago... but I have NEVER been able to connect to a Multiplayer game. PSN did however just push a system software update around the same time.
 
I opened ports on my router with ipv4 (after asking rollback from CGNAT to my internet provider) :
TCP 80 443 1935 3478-3480
UDP 3074 3478-3479 49152-60434 (60435-65535 reserved from web provider)

UDP message still existing on PS5.
Tried also DMZ without sucess.
A friend has a different interner provider and has exactly the same issue.

Any other ideas? It's really disappointing...

Same problem here with my ps5 and my friends. Didn't have problems with this before recently. Really frustrating seeing as how they released dlc and now I have no way to try it with my friend. Is this something they are working on or is the game just dead?

The game ceased development nearly 2 years ago. So if this just happened to you recently, it's something external to the game (which does not exclude the MP servers of course!).

Do ALL of your friends on PS5 see this, regardless of who they play with? Or it is only when you (or some other particular individual) are involved?

Since it appears not so many games in the lobby I don't know, but my friend on PS5 is experimenting the same with all, and I experiment the same with all players launching games in the lobby, it's also the same on my PS4 such as on my PS5.
I am not sure of my hypothesis, but when i see the rules in my UPNP I don't know if the playstation is asking for ports. Maybe it could be that? (no problem in other games, except Aliens fireteam elite, problems occur with some players to join, and the upnp is active because there are regularly auto-rules on the IP of the PS5)
 
I don't know enough about how this game does MP on consoles to answer your detailed questions, sorry.

This issue is happening to everyone I've tried to play the game with. Our symptoms appear to be the same as what Laurentla69 is dealing with. Maybe they just shut down the mp servers idk. Anyway, thanks for replying.
 
I'll raise it with Paradox tomorrow.
 
I'm in the same boat. Can't play with my friend on the PS5 because of UDP error leading to a time out. We haven't had any problems with about 6 other games we play together on the PS5.
