I got this with EU2, every time I try to start a game or load a save I get an Application Error message with a lot of numbers, then CTD. It happens 100 percent of the time when trying to load any scenario so far.

I tried unistalling and reinstalling. After unistalling I realized I'd lost my disk  so I bought the Strategy First pack since I also misplaced Victoria and HoI during a recent move. Installed that version and the latest patch and still the same thing. Also with either the Asian or regular disk in the drive, it doesn't matter.

Any thoughts? Obvious solutions I should try?

Exactly what sort of application error do you get? (error message, module name, codes, etc)

Okay, Here's what it says. It's total jibberish to me:

instruction "0x004ca256" referenced memory at "0x00000001". The memory could not be "read"

Quotation marks and all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and got the same error. I got a slightly different one at the same place when I tried not installing the 1.90 patch. Different numbers but same thing happened, it crashed when I went to start a game.

Here is Castellon's standard advice: if it does not work then post back here.

1) Make sure you have the latest patch for the game.
2) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back
3) Set the color depth to 16BIT
4) Turn off everything in the background like E-mail/ICQ/Messenger, Virus protection and everything in the system tray beside the clock.
5) Update your Windows, update your Video card drivers and audio card drivers. Then repeat steps 1-3.

Other than that, also please note that you cannot install EU2 Asia and the vanilla version of EU2 at the same time (they share some rgistry keys). If you did that, please uninstall the Asia version before installing Eu2 and then add update 1.9 to it.
