I feel like different parts of Westeros could really make use of the different unit and portrait packs, like the North using the Celtic portraits or something along those lines...

Probably not, mainly due to the fact we have scripted a lot of dna for westerosi characters which would need to be adjusted. It would also be tricky to make the mod compatible for people with and without different face packs, we would likely need a seperate submod for each facepack.

I will admit Holy fury definitley added better faces.

I feel like the best option would be to just have a single sub-mod for people with all the facepacks, like HIP does with CPR. As for the scripted DNA I would be willing to help update that if you needed help

Wasn't there a CPR submod that did this? I remember using something that used a bunch of the new faces, and it really did improve the experience, but it took too long to update for one of the patches so I eventually soldiered on without it.

If you head on over to the Citadel Forums, there's other modders who have made their own stuff; I personally like Tubb's Better Faces, but I know a lot of people use Better Looking Garbs.

There's no less than THREE different submods that do this already, Tubb's, Better Looking Garbs and a CPR submod, Tubbs and the CPR one are on the AGoT submod forum. I have tried both and they're both good.

I will say I think it's weird they haven't made one of these options an official submod that comes packaged with the mod to make them more obvious to the layman that doesnt look for submods, because quite frankly westerngfx suck ass and the new stuff is astronomically better and I think the ugly faces would be a turn off to a lot of potential players (they were to me until I found the submod).

There's an easy reason for this: official Paradox policy (and any company policy when dealing with modded DLC) is that, unless it can be locked to only players who own said DLC, mods cannot be allowed to be published that utilize that DLC's assets. So, to appeal to the widest range of people possible, the AGOT team opted to just use westerngfx, and not reference any other gfx asset list.

Curiously, when I bought Jade Dragon, my Yi Tish people all changed appearance. Furthermore, Elder Kings makes good use of my Monks and Mystics included german faces for Nords while Imperials, Reachmen and Bretons look default.

As far as I know from reading about culture modding, you can specify more than one graphics set for a culture, and the game will check them in order and pick the first one you are permitted to use.
