Armageddon 1.2 crashes

Hi there

Clean install for DD + Patch 1.3a = game works fine

installed Armageddon + patched 1.2 :
I started the game, menu goes up, when I choose single player and 1936 scenario the loading screen appears however when the loading bar almost complete (it says "reading scenario") the screen goes black with an error message

any ideas why the game cant read the scenario?
(By the way, I renamed avi folder to aviold already)

my machine is brand new
intel duo core 3.0ghz
ATI radeon 4850

Are you using the Gamers Gate installer for Armageddon?
If so, did you install Armageddon, and patch, to the \doomsday folder?

1. Yes I use the Gamers gate installer
2. Yes I installed the Armageddon and the patch into DD folder.

i get a crash to, with EVERY installation, im running vista 64
