I know, this is going to set off a Noob Alarm...but I've never played Crusader Kings until now. And just for the record, I literally impulse bought a Xbox X Series so I could play this game (and maybe Age of Empires IV when it's released for console).

Anyways...I found the button to split armies in half...and they appear to split because it has the little (2) next to the amount. "But", I can't figure out how to actually split them up and make them go in different places (which is the whole point of splitting them). No matter which army I select...when I move it...the other moves too. I've tried watching tutorials...but nothing. Help!!

You clearly have both armies selected. When you re-select the army, you should start cycling through them.

Not sure how this works on console. Maybe ask on the console section?

Assuming it works like PC, when you select an army which shares its location with another, you at first select all armies at that location. You either need to select again to go down to one army, or else toggle to select only one.

After splitting the armies back out of controlling them, hit r1/rb until the army tab is selected (or l1/lb) choose specific army you want to move and move it where you want.
If you click on the stack it will select all on that county.
Also I recommend you looking into the separate army option (pretty sure that’s its name) it should be next to or below split army. That will allow you to split as you please rather than just randomly selecting half the army

Don't you have a relatively updated PC with a graphics card? It is a much better option than playing CK3 on Xbox...

That worked, thanks.
