Armies Disappearing off the map

I start up Europa Universalis, load up the Ottoman Empire, play for a bit, when suddenly, boom- All my armies are gone. What's happening? And more importantly, how do I fix it?

I have to admit though, that I am playing this on a NoCD patch, as I have moved to college, and kindly let my brother hold onto the CD. Should I just go back and get my CD back from him?

Yep. You are in a completely unsupported situation. There is no known problem in EU2 like you describe.

BTW the current patch 1.09 allows you to play without CD at all ...
