Is there a function that allows you to see all your armies and navies in the zoomed out view. I am tired of losing armies and navies to attrition, especially when I annex a country.

No such function. You just have to remember where you put everything. One thing I find helps is to go to the menu, and change the options so that the arrival of a navy somewhere pops up a dialog box that tells me so. This doesn't help if you're parking a fleet somewhere to watch the action, though.

U can see them on the minimap though. Rightclick on that and select navies/armies/whatever.
Open ledger and go to page "Army listing" (or something like that). It tells you the provinces where your armies are. There's a "Navy listing" page, too.
Of course, this requires you to know where these provinces are, so in some cases it's next to useless.

Select an army or navy at random, and page up/page down through your entire fleet to make sure they all have orders. Make sure that all arrivals are accompanied by popups. That way you can't miss anything.
