When I marched into a province with a huge army and the enemy is defeated, I have problems to select my army again !

Siege is layed automatically and there´s only the besieging window, when I click my army-figurine on the map.

How can I choose one of the armies in the province to march on and conquer the next province BEFORE I have won the siege in the old province ?

Thx in advance
Gan.

You can click on the small statusbars below the unitsprite to select individual units.

Wow ! Thx very much for the quick reply ! (2mins)

Btw same topic : The two options 'Bedecken' and 'Belagern' ('Stürmen' is clear ;)
are shown sometimes several times, when My troops begin to besieging.

If I click them several times... why is my huge Force divided in many smaller one ?
Any advantages ?
The disadvantage is, that I have to reorganize after every siege.

Greetings
Gan.

These buttons split off a force that is large enough to cover or siege the fortress, so that you can move away with the current selected army.

Hi, I just wanted to know what is the function of the button/command 'Bedecken' in EU.

... If I am not mistaken it means cover or something like that.

thanks.

Johan, or someone, correct me if I am wrong, but.... Bedecken is the option you use if you want your army to control the province (no income to the owner, and prevents building of armies there), but you don't want to waste troops and morale on laying a siege. I hardly ever use it, but sometimes, if you lay siege, even if you don't storm the fort, your army immediately loses a portion of its morale, which means if a relieving army comes along, you are at a disadvantage because they will be at full morale.

I believe, but cannot prove, that your troops also suffer less attrition if you choose Bedecken instead of Belagern.

I just read the manual again. It says that Bedecken allows you to move troops through the province even though you don't control it... Not sure if that has any other benefits, though.

'Bedecken'(to cover) means also that you can trace your supply route through this enemy province, if you have a 'Bedecken'-Force there.
I think a 'Belagern'-Force (siege army) must be bigger than a 'Bedecken'Force'(cover army).

Hope this helps too
Gan.

It depends how fast you want to capture the fortress without asssaulting it.

If you want it fast and don't care of attrition, hit 'besiege', if you accept a long siege or want to avoid attrition loss, hit 'cover'.

Or choose a mix of 'cover' and 'besiege'
