Army without a country leads to CTD

I am playing England in the 1066 campaign. It is around 1140. I DOWed some vassal of the emirate of Sevilla, and the emir of Sevilla DOWs me. I take out the shiekdom then work on Sevilla. The ruler seems to have an unending number of vassals. Finally I finish off everyone who seems to have anything to do with Sevilla, but he has one army bouncing back and forth between defeats. I tried real hard to find another province having anything to do with Sevilla, but I am still at war. I tried to save the game to look and see where Sevilla was and CTD. The game file, which had previously been over 18 meg, now was blank after the header = { etc } command.

Any thoughts?

I remember this being one of those bugs that are fixed in the public beta patches. Am not certain though, can anybody confirm?

Well I never have seen the bug happening when playing with the beta, so it is problably fixed. Since I have seen armies disappear when the entire land of that country is conquered.
